And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that[ would come] from thence.

In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe( because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

For in the multitude of dreams and many words[ there are] also[ divers] vanities: but fear thou God.

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet[ are], and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is[ the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his[ days] be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong[ his] days,[ which are] as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.

For all those[ things] hath mine hand made, and all those[ things] have been, saith the LORD: but to this[ man] will I look,[ even] to[ him that is] poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart[ is] my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.

Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.I have fought a good fight, I have finished[ my] course, I have kept the faith:Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth,[ that] he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.Then Nebuchadnezzar in[ his] rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them,[ Is it] true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made;[ well]: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who[ is] that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we[ are] not careful to answer thee in this matter.If it be[ so], our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver[ us] out of thine hand, O king.But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

[ It is] a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

My flesh trembleth for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments.

Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
