上智在通衢宣呼、在街市揚聲、在諠譁之路頭大聲而呼、在城門之口在城中發言、曰、爾拙者悅於拙、侮慢者樂於侮慢、愚者厭惡知識、將至何時、我督責爾、爾當歸而受教、我將以我神賦爾、我將以我神賦爾或作我將向爾吐露我之心意以我言示爾、

答曰、天主國之奧、乃賜爾知之、惟於他人則設喻、使其視亦不見、聽亦不悟、

當日耶穌自室出、坐於海濱、群眾集就之、遂登舟而坐、眾立於岸、耶穌多端設喻語之曰、有播種者出而播種、播時有遺道旁者、鳥至而盡食之、有遺磽地土薄之處者、土既不深、發萌甚速、日出見暴、以無根故、則槁、有遺荊棘中者、荊棘起而蔽之、有遺沃壤者、結實或百倍、或六十倍、或三十倍、凡有耳能聽者、當聽焉、○門徒就耶穌問曰、爾語眾設喻何故、答曰、天國之奧、賜爾知、不賜眾知、蓋凡有者、必將予之、使之有餘、無有者、並其所有亦將奪之、故我設喻語眾、因其視而不見、聽而不聞、亦不悟焉、在是人也、正應以賽亞之預言云、爾將聽而不聰、視而不明、因斯民之心冥頑、自聾其耳、自閉其目、免其目視、耳聽、心悟悔改、而我醫之焉、惟爾目有福、因其見也、爾耳有福、因其聞也、我誠告爾、昔多先知及義人、欲見爾所見而不得見、欲聞爾所聞而不得聞、○

我儕既有如是之望、故毅然而言、

智慧大呼、明哲發聲、立道旁之高處、通衢之所、在城門側、在城門前、出入之處、宣言曰、惟爾諸人、我呼爾曹、我向世人揚聲曰、拙者當學明哲、蠢者心當覺悟、

此皆耶穌設喻語眾、非喻不語之、為應先知所言云、我將啟口設喻、創世以來所隱者、將述明之、○

我設喻以此事告爾、時將至、我不復設喻告爾、乃以父明示爾、

乃在會堂、與猶太人及虔敬之希拉人辯論、每日在市、與凡所遇之人亦然、
