When you are persecuted in one town, flee to the next. I tell you the truth, the Son of Man will return before you have reached all the towns of Israel.

When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

When people attack you in one place, escape to another. What I’m about to tell you is true. You will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

Jumping up, they mobbed him and forced him to the edge of the hill on which the town was built. They intended to push him over the cliff,but he passed right through the crowd and went on his way.Then Jesus went to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and taught there in the synagogue every Sabbath day.

That very night the believers sent Paul and Silas to Berea. When they arrived there, they went to the Jewish synagogue.

They were watching for him day and night at the city gate so they could murder him, but Saul was told about their plot.So during the night, some of the other believers lowered him in a large basket through an opening in the city wall.

Saul was one of the witnesses, and he agreed completely with the killing of Stephen. A great wave of persecution began that day, sweeping over the church in Jerusalem; and all the believers except the apostles were scattered through the regions of Judea and Samaria.

The believers acted at once, sending Paul on to the coast, while Silas and Timothy remained behind.

I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?”

Then some Jews arrived from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowds to their side. They stoned Paul and dragged him out of town, thinking he was dead.But as the believers gathered around him, he got up and went back into the town. The next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe.

But what if the servant is evil and thinks,‘ My master won’t be back for a while,’

So from that time on, the Jewish leaders began to plot Jesus’ death.As a result, Jesus stopped his public ministry among the people and left Jerusalem. He went to a place near the wilderness, to the village of Ephraim, and stayed there with his disciples.

When the apostles learned of it, they fled to the region of Lycaonia— to the towns of Lystra and Derbe and the surrounding area.And there they preached the Good News.

For as the lightning flashes in the east and shines to the west, so it will be when the Son of Man comes.

And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

“ Therefore, I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers of religious law. But you will kill some by crucifixion, and you will flog others with whips in your synagogues, chasing them from city to city.

When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he left Judea and returned to Galilee.

Then the Jews stirred up the influential religious women and the leaders of the city, and they incited a mob against Paul and Barnabas and ran them out of town.So they shook the dust from their feet as a sign of rejection and went to the town of Iconium.

“ So you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return.

Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory.

Once again they tried to arrest him, but he got away and left them.He went beyond the Jordan River near the place where John was first baptizing and stayed there awhile.And many followed him.“ John didn’t perform miraculous signs,” they remarked to one another,“ but everything he said about this man has come true.”And many who were there believed in Jesus.

Jesus replied,“ You have said it. And in the future you will see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

Then the Pharisees called a meeting to plot how to kill Jesus.But Jesus knew what they were planning. So he left that area, and many people followed him. He healed all the sick among them,

After the wise men were gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream.“ Get up! Flee to Egypt with the child and his mother,” the angel said.“ Stay there until I tell you to return, because Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”

After this, Jesus traveled around Galilee. He wanted to stay out of Judea, where the Jewish leaders were plotting his death.

Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds with great power and glory.

When the uproar was over, Paul sent for the believers and encouraged them. Then he said good bye and left for Macedonia.
