不要相信邻居，不要信赖朋友，即使对你怀中的妻子也要守口如瓶。因为儿子藐视父亲，女儿与母亲作对，媳妇与婆婆作对；家人之间反目成仇。

你们将被父母、弟兄、亲戚、朋友出卖，你们有些人会被他们害死。你们将为我的名而被众人憎恨，

那时，许多人会放弃信仰，互相出卖，彼此憎恨。

“那时，人必把自己的弟兄置于死地，父亲必把儿子置于死地，儿女必反叛父母，置他们于死地。你们将为我的名而被众人憎恨，但坚忍到底的必定得救。

你们以为我来是要使天下太平吗？不，我告诉你们，我来是要使地上起纷争。从今以后，一家五口会彼此相争，三个人反对两个人，或是两个人反对三个人，父子相争，母女对立，婆媳反目。”

若有人再说预言，他的亲生父母必对他说，‘你不得活命，因为你奉耶和华的名说谎。’他说预言的时候，他的亲生父母必把他刺死。

“不要以为我来了会让天下太平，我并非带来和平，乃是带来刀剑。因为我来是要叫儿子与父亲作对，女儿与母亲作对，媳妇与婆婆作对，家人之间反目成仇。

亚希多弗对押沙龙说：“让我挑选一万二千人，今夜启程追赶大卫，趁他疲惫无力的时候袭击他，使他惊慌失措，他的部下必逃命。我只把王一个人杀掉，把他的部下全都带来归顺你。你寻索的人既然死了，跟随他的人必然会归顺你。这样，大家就平安无事了。”押沙龙和以色列的长老都赞成这个提议。

大卫对亚比筛和他所有臣仆说：“我的亲生儿子尚且要取我的命，何况这个便雅悯人呢？由他去吧！因为这是耶和华的意思。

我的密友都憎恶我，我爱的人也反对我。
