These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages;they will pick up snakes with their hands, and whatever poison they drink will not harm them; they will place their hands on the sick and they will be well.”

And look, I am sending you what my Father promised. But stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

Look, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions and on the full force of the enemy, and nothing will hurt you.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest parts of the earth.”

John replied,“ No one can receive anything unless it has been given to him from heaven.

When morning came, he called his disciples and chose twelve of them, whom he also named apostles:

But the evil spirit replied to them,“ I know about Jesus and I am acquainted with Paul, but who are you?”

For I will give you the words along with the wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.

Then Jesus came up and said to them,“ All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

Then a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and with the moon under her feet, and on her head was a crown of twelve stars.

The Father loves the Son and has placed all things under his authority.

Jesus said to them,“ I tell you the truth: In the age when all things are renewed, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent by the chief priests and elders of the people.
