When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.

Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?You see that his faith was working together with his works and his faith was perfected by works.And the scripture was fulfilled that says,“ Now Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend.You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.And similarly, was not Rahab the prostitute also justified by works when she welcomed the messengers and sent them out by another way?For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

You are my friends if you do what I command you.

and he burned fragrant incense on it, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

Then he spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent over it, as the LORD had commanded Moses.

His skin became as smooth as a young child’s and he was healed.

God said,“ Take your son– your only son, whom you love, Isaac– and go to the land of Moriah! Offer him up there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will indicate to you.”Early in the morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took two of his young servants with him, along with his son Isaac. When he had cut the wood for the burnt offering, he started out for the place God had spoken to him about.

His mother told the servants,“ Whatever he tells you, do it.”Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washing, each holding twenty or thirty gallons.Jesus told the servants,“ Fill the water jars with water.” So they filled them up to the very top.Then he told them,“ Now draw some out and take it to the head steward,” and they did.

By faith Noah, when he was warned about things not yet seen, with reverent regard constructed an ark for the deliverance of his family. Through faith he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place he would later receive as an inheritance, and he went out without understanding where he was going.

And Noah did all that God commanded him– he did indeed.

This is what Moses did, according to all the LORD had commanded him– so he did.

By faith, when he grew up, Moses refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,choosing rather to be ill- treated with the people of God than to enjoy sin’s fleeting pleasure.He regarded abuse suffered for Christ to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for his eyes were fixed on the reward.By faith he left Egypt without fearing the king’s anger, for he persevered as though he could see the one who is invisible.By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood, so that the one who destroyed the firstborn would not touch them.By faith they crossed the Red Sea as if on dry ground, but when the Egyptians tried it, they were swallowed up.By faith the walls of Jericho fell after the people marched around them for seven days.By faith Rahab the prostitute escaped the destruction of the disobedient, because she welcomed the spies in peace.

And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him.
