『因為你看、萬軍之永恆主說：那日來到、燃燒着像火爐：一切傲慢的、一切行惡的、都必成了碎稭；那要來到的日子必將他們燒滅掉，不給留下根頭或枝條。

萬有之主曰、其日將至、勢若爇爐、凡驕傲者、作惡者、有如草芥、其日盡燬、根本枝條、無所存留、

“ Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the Lord Almighty.“ Not a root or a branch will be left to them.

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies says,“ The day of judgment is coming, burning like a furnace. On that day the arrogant and the wicked will be burned up like straw. They will be consumed— roots, branches, and all.

“ For look, the day is coming, burning like a furnace, when all the arrogant and everyone who commits wickedness will become stubble. The coming day will consume them,” says the LORD of Armies,“ not leaving them root or branches.

“ For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them ablaze,” says the Lord of armies,“ so that it will leave them neither root nor branches.

“ For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the Lord of hosts,“ That will leave them neither root nor branch.

可是，他來的日子，誰能當得起呢？他顯現的時候，誰能站立得住呢？因為他像煉金之人的火，又像漂布之人的鹼。

又要報應那些不認識神、不聽從我們主耶穌的福音的人。

但現在的天地，還是因著同樣的話可以存留，直到不敬虔的人受審判和遭滅亡的日子，用火焚燒。

看哪！他們必像碎稭，火必要焚燒他們；他們不能救自己脫離火燄的威力；這不是可以烤火取暖的火炭，也不是可以坐在它面前的火。

雅各家必成為火，約瑟家必成為火燄；以掃家卻像碎稭，被它們焚燒吞滅，以掃家再沒有生還的人了。因為耶和華已經說了。

因此，火舌怎樣吞滅碎稭，乾草怎樣落在火燄之中，照樣，他們的根必像腐朽之物，他們的花必像塵土飛揚；因為他們棄絕萬軍之耶和華的訓誨，藐視以色列聖者的話。

因為萬軍之耶和華必有一日，要攻擊一切驕傲的、狂妄的，和所有高抬自己的，他們都要降卑。又要攻擊黎巴嫩所有高大的香柏樹，和巴珊所有的橡樹。又攻擊所有的高山，和所有的峻嶺；攻擊每一個高臺，和每一道堅固的城牆；攻擊所有他施的船隻，和所有美麗的船。人的高傲必變為謙虛，人的狂妄都必降為卑微，在那日，唯獨耶和華被高舉。

他下面的根枯乾，上面的枝子凋謝。

在耶和華發怒的日子，他們的金銀也不能救他們，全地都要被他的妒火吞滅；因為他要徹底毀滅地上所有的居民，真是可怕的毀滅。

“當你們看見耶路撒冷被軍隊圍困的時候，就知道它荒涼的日子近了。

他們像纏結著的荊棘，像喝醉了的酒徒，又像枯乾的禾稭，全都被吞滅了。

看哪！耶和華的日子快到，人要在你中間分取你的掠物。

耶和華的大日子臨近了，臨近了，來得非常快速。聽！耶和華的日子的聲音。在那日，勇士要哀痛地號叫。

那時，你們就要再看出義人與惡人、事奉神的人和不事奉他的人之間有甚麼分別。”

日子將到，你的仇敵必築壘攻擊你，周圍環繞你，四面困住你，

現在我們稱驕傲的人為有福，作惡的人得建立；他們雖然試探神，卻得以逃脫。’”

大山在他面前震動，小山也都融化；大地在他面前廢去，世界和所有住在世上的，也都這樣。在他盛怒之下，誰能站得住呢？他的烈怒誰能受得了呢？他的忿怒像火一般噴出來，磐石在他面前都崩裂了。

“看哪！在耶和華大而可畏的日子來到以先，我必差派以利亞先知到你們那裡去。

他手裡拿著簸箕，要揚淨麥場，把麥子收進倉裡，卻用不滅的火把糠秕燒盡。”

太陽將變為黑暗，月亮將變為血紅。在耶和華偉大可畏的日子臨到以前，這一切都要發生。

你們要在錫安吹號，並在我的聖山發出警訊，讓國中所有的居民都戰慄，因為耶和華的日子快到，必然臨近了。

你以莫大的威榮，毀滅了那些起來攻擊你的人；你發出烈怒，把他們燒滅像燒禾稭一樣。

“‘看哪，這日子到了！災害已經發出，杖已經開花，狂傲已經發芽。

世上所有的惡人，你都把他們除滅，如同除去渣滓，因此我喜愛你的法度。

誰從東方激動了一個人，憑公義把他召到自己的腳前來？他把列國交在他面前，他制伏眾王；他使他們在他的刀下化作灰塵，他使他們在他的弓下像碎稭一樣被吹散。

我不是在他們面前把亞摩利人消滅了嗎？亞摩利人雖像香柏樹高大，像橡樹那樣堅固；我卻要滅絕它樹上的果子，拔除樹下的根。

他們才剛剛栽上，剛剛種上，他們的樹頭剛剛在地裡扎根，他一吹在其上，他們就枯乾了，旋風把他們像碎稭一樣吹去。

你出現的時候，就要使他們像熾熱的火爐；耶和華必在他的震怒中吞滅他們，火必燒滅他們。你必從地上除滅他們的子孫，從人間除滅他們的後裔。
