A son honoureth[ his] father, and a servant his master: if then I[ be] a father, where[ is] mine honour? and if I[ be] a master, where[ is] my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?

“藐视我名的祭司啊，万军之耶和华对你们说：儿子尊敬父亲，仆人敬畏主人；我既为父亲，尊敬我的在哪里呢？我既为主人，敬畏我的在哪里呢？你们却说：‘我们在何事上藐视你的名呢？’

万军之耶和华对你们说：“儿子孝敬父亲，仆人敬畏主人；我既为父亲，孝敬我的在哪里呢？我既为主人，敬畏我的在哪里呢？你们这些藐视我名的祭司啊！”你们却说：“我们在何事上藐视你的名呢？”

万军之耶和华对你们说：“儿子孝敬父亲，仆人敬畏主人；我既为父亲，孝敬我的在哪里呢？我既为主人，敬畏我的在哪里呢？你们这些藐视我名的祭司啊！”你们却说：“我们在何事上藐视你的名呢？”

万军之耶和华对祭司说：“儿子应当尊敬父亲，仆人应当敬畏主人。我是你们的父亲，但你们对我的尊敬在哪里呢？我是你们的主人，但你们对我的敬畏在哪里呢？你们藐视我的名，却狡辩说，‘我们在何事上藐视过你的名呢？’

万军之耶和华对你们说：“藐视我名的祭司啊！儿子尊敬父亲，仆人敬畏主人。我若是父亲，我该受的尊敬在哪里呢？我若是主人，我应得的敬畏在哪里呢？”你们却说：“我们怎样藐视了你的名呢？”

藐视我名的祭司们哪，万军之耶和华对你们说：“儿子尊敬父亲，仆人敬畏他的主人。我既是父亲，我当受的尊敬在哪里呢？我既是主人，我当受的敬畏在哪里呢？你们竟然问：‘我们是怎么藐视你名的呢？’

「藐視我名的祭司啊，萬軍之耶和華對你們說：兒子尊敬父親，僕人敬畏主人；我既為父親，尊敬我的在哪裏呢？我既為主人，敬畏我的在哪裏呢？你們卻說：『我們在何事上藐視你的名呢？』

萬軍之耶和華對你們說：「兒子孝敬父親，僕人敬畏主人；我既為父親，孝敬我的在哪裏呢？我既為主人，敬畏我的在哪裏呢？你們這些藐視我名的祭司啊！」你們卻說：「我們在何事上藐視你的名呢？」

萬軍之耶和華對你們說：「兒子孝敬父親，僕人敬畏主人；我既為父親，孝敬我的在哪裏呢？我既為主人，敬畏我的在哪裏呢？你們這些藐視我名的祭司啊！」你們卻說：「我們在何事上藐視你的名呢？」

萬軍之耶和華對祭司說：「兒子應當尊敬父親，僕人應當敬畏主人。我是你們的父親，但你們對我的尊敬在哪裡呢？我是你們的主人，但你們對我的敬畏在哪裡呢？你們藐視我的名，卻狡辯說，『我們在何事上藐視過你的名呢？』

萬軍之耶和華對你們說：“藐視我名的祭司啊！兒子尊敬父親，僕人敬畏主人。我若是父親，我該受的尊敬在哪裡呢？我若是主人，我應得的敬畏在哪裡呢？”你們卻說：“我們怎樣藐視了你的名呢？”

『藐視我名的祭司啊，萬軍之永恆主對你們說：兒子孝敬父親，奴僕敬畏主人。我既是做父親，我在哪裏得到孝敬呢？我既是做主人，我在哪裏得到敬畏呢？而你們竟說：「我們在甚麼事上藐視你的名呢？」

藐視我名的祭司們哪，萬軍之耶和華對你們說：「兒子尊敬父親，僕人敬畏他的主人。我既是父親，我當受的尊敬在哪裡呢？我既是主人，我當受的敬畏在哪裡呢？你們竟然問：『我們是怎麼藐視你名的呢？』

萬軍之耶和華曰、輕視我名之祭司歟、子尊其父、僕尊其主、我若為父、尊我者安在、我若為主、畏我者安在、爾曰、我於何事輕視爾名乎、

萬有之主耶和華、告侮慢之祭司曰、子敬父、僕敬主、我既為父、爾奚不敬、我既為主、爾奚不畏、乃爾曰、何嘗侮爾哉、

我萬有之主告爾褻慢我名之祭司曰、子敬父、奴敬主、我既為父、爾何不敬我、我既為主、爾何不畏我、我既為父爾何不敬我我既為主爾何不畏我或作我既為父爾敬我者安在我既為主爾畏我者安在乃爾曰、我於何處於何處或作何嘗褻慢主之名乎、

“ A son honors his father, and a slave his master. If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due me?” says the Lord Almighty.“ It is you priests who show contempt for my name.“ But you ask,‘ How have we shown contempt for your name?’

“ A son honors his father. A slave honors his master. If I am a father, where is the honor I should have? If I am a master, where is the respect you should give me?” says the Lord who rules over all.“ You priests look down on me.“ But you ask,‘ How have we looked down on you?’

“ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is my fear? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. But you say,‘ How have we despised your name?’

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies says to the priests:“ A son honors his father, and a servant respects his master. If I am your father and master, where are the honor and respect I deserve? You have shown contempt for my name!“ But you ask,‘ How have we ever shown contempt for your name?’

“ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. But if I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is your fear of me? says the LORD of Armies to you priests, who despise my name.” Yet you ask,“ How have we despised your name?”

“ ‘ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. Then if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My respect?’ says the Lord of armies to you, the priests who despise My name! But you say,‘ How have we despised Your name?’

“ A son honors his father, And a servant his master. If then I am the Father, Where is My honor? And if I am a Master, Where is My reverence? Says the Lord of hosts To you priests who despise My name. Yet you say,‘ In what way have we despised Your name?’

A son honoreth his father, and a servant his master: if then I am a father, where is mine honor? and if I am a master, where is my fear? saith Jehovah of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?

“ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. But if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is your fear of Me? says Yahweh of Hosts to you priests, who despise My name.” Yet you ask:“ How have we despised Your name?”

“ A son naturally honors his father and a slave respects his master. If I am your father, where is my honor? If I am your master, where is my respect? The LORD who rules over all asks you this, you priests who make light of my name! But you reply,‘ How have we made light of your name?’

“ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, then where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is the respect due me? Says Yahweh of Armies to you, priests, who despise my name. You say,‘ How have we despised your name?’

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Honour all[ men]. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.Servants,[ be] subject to[ your] masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.For this[ is] thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for[ so] I am.If I then,[ your] Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning[ here] in fear:

And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance:[ in] all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that[ were] sin.

Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken[ so much] against thee?Ye have said, It[ is] vain to serve God: and what profit[ is it] that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?

Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet[ is] she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for[ one] covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied[ him]? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil[ is] good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where[ is] the God of judgment?

But now, O LORD, thou[ art] our father; we[ are] the clay, and thou our potter; and we all[ are] the work of thy hand.

The eye[ that] mocketh at[ his] father, and despiseth to obey[ his] mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

Honour thy father and mother;( which is the first commandment with promise;)

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:

[ Exhort] servants to be obedient unto their own masters,[ and] to please[ them] well in all[ things]; not answering again;Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I[ am] the LORD your God.

Honour thy father and[ thy] mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.

But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.

Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept[ them]. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim[ is] my firstborn.

Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment[ is] toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.

Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed[ difference] between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

[ There is] a generation[ that] curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.

And honour not his father or his mother,[ he shall be free]. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel[ is] my son,[ even] my firstborn:And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son,[ even] thy firstborn.

Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap,[ yet] thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD.

For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD.

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love[ to have it] so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and[ his] doctrine be not blasphemed.And they that have believing masters, let them not despise[ them], because they are brethren; but rather do[ them] service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel[ to be] my priest, to offer upon mine altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy father all the offerings made by fire of the children of Israel?Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded[ in my] habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed[ that] thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
