Now when the days drew near for him to be taken up, Jesus set out resolutely to go to Jerusalem.

As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.

The time grew near for Jesus to be taken up to heaven. So he made up his mind to go to Jerusalem.

After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

Then Jesus took the twelve aside and said to them,“ Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written about the Son of Man by the prophets will be accomplished.

The sovereign LORD has spoken to me clearly; I have not rebelled, I have not turned back.I offered my back to those who attacked, my jaws to those who tore out my beard; I did not hide my face from insults and spitting.But the sovereign LORD helps me, so I am not humiliated. For that reason I am steadfastly resolved; I know I will not be put to shame.The one who vindicates me is close by. Who dares to argue with me? Let us confront each other! Who is my accuser? Let him challenge me!Look, the sovereign LORD helps me. Who dares to condemn me? Look, all of them will wear out like clothes; a moth will eat away at them.

Then Jesus traveled throughout towns and villages, teaching and making his way toward Jerusalem.

Now on the way to Jerusalem, Jesus was passing along between Samaria and Galilee.

After Jesus had said this, he continued on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

where Jesus our forerunner entered on our behalf, since he became a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.

I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is finished!

While the people were listening to these things, Jesus proceeded to tell a parable, because he was near to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately.

Just before the LORD took Elijah up to heaven in a windstorm, Elijah and Elisha were traveling from Gilgal.Elijah told Elisha,“ Stay here, for the LORD has sent me to Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As certainly as the LORD lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.Some members of the prophetic guild in Bethel came out to Elisha and said,“ Do you know that today the LORD is going to take your master from you?” He answered,“ Yes, I know. Be quiet.”

keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for him he endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.

After he had said this, while they were watching, he was lifted up and a cloud hid him from their sight.

And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem without knowing what will happen to me there,except that the Holy Spirit warns me in town after town that imprisonment and persecutions are waiting for me.But I do not consider my life worth anything to myself, so that I may finish my task and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news of God’s grace.

until the day he was taken up to heaven, after he had given orders by the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.

And we all agree, our religion contains amazing revelation: He was revealed in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

He came to us, took Paul’s belt, tied his own hands and feet with it, and said,“ The Holy Spirit says this:‘ This is the way the Jews in Jerusalem will tie up the man whose belt this is, and will hand him over to the Gentiles.’”When we heard this, both we and the local people begged him not to go up to Jerusalem.Then Paul replied,“ What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be tied up, but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”Because he could not be persuaded, we said no more except,“ The Lord’s will be done.”

Just before the Passover Feast, Jesus knew that his time had come to depart from this world to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now loved them to the very end.

Now during the blessing he departed and was taken up into heaven.

This power he exercised in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms

I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them safe in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are one.

Therefore it says,“ When he ascended on high he captured captives; he gave gifts to men.”Now what is the meaning of“ he ascended,” except that he also descended to the lower regions, namely, the earth?He, the very one who descended, is also the one who ascended above all the heavens, in order to fill all things.It was he who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,

But now I am going to the one who sent me, and not one of you is asking me,‘ Where are you going?’

Then what if you see the Son of Man ascending where he was before?

with this goal in mind, I strive toward the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
