一人自人叢中呼曰：『夫子、祈爾垂顧吾兒！予惟此一子、

A man in the crowd called out,“ Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only child.

耶稣快到城门口时，从城里走出一队送殡的人，死者是一个寡妇的独子，有许多城中的人陪着她。

大臣听说耶稣从犹太来到加利利，立刻赶来见祂，求祂去医治他病危的儿子。

那地方有个迦南的妇人前来大声恳求耶稣：“主啊！大卫的后裔啊！可怜我吧！我的女儿被鬼附身，受尽折磨！”

一个名叫雅鲁的会堂主管走过来俯伏在耶稣脚前，求耶稣到他家去，因为他有一个大约十二岁的独生女快要死了。耶稣前去雅鲁家的时候，人群拥挤着祂。

我们对我主说，‘我们有年迈的老父，他在晚年得了一个儿子，这孩子的哥哥已经死了，他母亲只剩下他这一个儿子，他父亲很疼爱他。’

“我必将施恩和祷告的灵浇灌在大卫家和耶路撒冷的居民身上。他们必仰望我——他们所刺的那位，如丧独子一般为祂哀伤，如丧长子一般为祂痛哭。
