Then two men, Moses and Elijah, began talking with him.

Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus.

Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in shining glory. Jesus and the two of them talked together.

And behold, two men were talking with him, Moses and Elijah,

Suddenly, two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared and began talking with Jesus.

For he has come to deserve greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house deserves greater honor than the house itself!For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that would be spoken.But Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. We are of his house, if in fact we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope we take pride in.

Then Elijah appeared before them along with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.So Peter said to Jesus,“ Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us make three shelters– one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”( For they were afraid, and he did not know what to say.)

But now apart from the law the righteousness of God( which is attested by the law and the prophets) has been disclosed–namely, the righteousness of God through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction,for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

But if the ministry that produced death– carved in letters on stone tablets– came with glory, so that the Israelites could not keep their eyes fixed on the face of Moses because of the glory of his face( a glory which was made ineffective),how much more glorious will the ministry of the Spirit be?For if there was glory in the ministry that produced condemnation, how much more does the ministry that produces righteousness excel in glory!For indeed, what had been glorious now has no glory because of the tremendously greater glory of what replaced it.For if what was made ineffective came with glory, how much more has what remains come in glory!

Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them the things written about himself in all the scriptures.

Then he said to them,“ These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and the psalms must be fulfilled.”

They answered,“ John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others that one of the prophets of long ago has risen.”

And he will go as forerunner before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared for him.”

Then Moses and Elijah also appeared before them, talking with him.So Peter said to Jesus,“ Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, I will make three shelters– one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came about through Jesus Christ.

Elijah was a human being like us, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain and there was no rain on the land for three years and six months!Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land sprouted with a harvest.
