He told them:“ Take nothing for the journey— no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt.

旋謂諸徒曰：『曩者予遣發爾曹、無囊無袋無履爾曹曾受困窮否耶？』

勿攜錢囊糧袋、及屐履等物。途中亦勿與人招呼。入一家、必先祝其平安；倘有平安子在、則爾之平安臨之；否則所祝仍反於爾。居是家、就其日常所備者、食焉飲焉；工而得值、孰云不宜。居則安之、毋輕徙。入一邑、見納、食其所供、治其病者、告邑人曰：「天主之國、已近爾矣！」入一邑、而不見納、則出至通衢、而告之曰：「爾邑之塵着我足、茲當爾拂去之。第爾應知天主之國在邇矣！」予實語爾、他日、索多瑪之刑較斯邑猶易受也。

毋攜金銀錢幣於爾腰帶。首途無行囊、無二衣、無履杖。蓋勞作者、不患無食也。凡入城村、必探訪其可依者而居之、以迄他往。入一家、祝其平安。若其家堪當所祝、則爾之平安臨之；若不堪當、則爾之平安仍返乎爾。人不爾納、不聽爾言、則離其宅、去其邑、拂爾足塵；

對曰：『有二衣者、當與無衣者共之；有食者亦然。』

囑曰：『首途時一杖而外、勿攜他物；無糧、無袋、無金於囊、惟著草履、勿御二衣。』復曰：『爾任至何地、既入一宅、則安居其所、以迄他往。任何地區有不納爾、不遵爾者、行時、拂爾足塵、以證其非。』

夫從軍者、欲得其長官之獎許、必專心一志、不以雜務自累。

恃主勉行善。恬然居廣宅。

理味設盛筵、款耶穌於其家。同席者有稅吏、及其他多人。

夫野草今日在田、明日投爐、天主猶飾之如此、況於爾乎？噫、何爾信心之薄也。

乃顧謂其徒曰：『故予語爾、勿慮生何以食、身何以衣。
