聖靈曾啟示他：他去世前必能親眼看見主所立的基督。

只看見耶穌暫時比天使低微一點，好靠著上帝的恩典為全人類親嚐死亡的滋味。祂因為經歷死亡的痛苦而得到了尊貴和榮耀作冠冕。

我實實在在地告訴你們，人如果遵行我的道，必永遠不死。」那些猶太人說：「現在我們的確知道你是被鬼附身了！亞伯拉罕和眾先知都死了，你還說人如果遵行你的道，必永遠不死。

我告訴你們，在上帝的國降臨之前，我不會再喝這葡萄酒了。」

耶穌繼續說：「我實在告訴你們，有些站在這裡的人會在有生之年看見上帝的國帶著能力降臨。」

然而，我把實情告訴你們，我去對你們是有益的，因為如果我不去，護慰者就不會來，我去了就會派祂到你們這裡來。

於是，他們就拿起石頭要打祂，耶穌卻避開他們，離開了聖殿。

我父的家裡有許多住處，不然我就不會說去為你們安排地方了。
