想保全生命的，必喪失生命；喪失生命的，必保全生命。

只知道聖靈在各城鎮指示我，前面必有監禁和苦難等著我。不過哪怕是犧牲性命，我也在所不辭，，只盼望我能跑完當跑的路程，完成主耶穌交託給我的使命，為上帝充滿恩典的福音做見證。

你不要害怕將要遭受的苦難。魔鬼要將你們當中的一些人下在監裡，試煉你們，你們必遭受十天的迫害。但你要至死忠心，我必賜給你生命的冠冕。

愛惜自己生命的，必會失掉生命；憎惡自己今世生命的，才能保住生命，直到永生。

有些婦女得回了從死裡復活的親人；有些人受盡嚴刑拷打，仍不肯苟且偷生，為要得到一個復活後更美好的生命。

弟兄們是靠著羔羊的血和自己所見證的道戰勝了牠，他們甘願犧牲，視死如歸。
