「你們認為這兩個兒子，到底哪一個服從父親呢？」他們回答道：「大兒子。」耶穌說：「我實在告訴你們，稅吏和娼妓要比你們先進上帝的國。

此後，耶穌到各城鎮去傳揚上帝國的福音。同行的有十二使徒，

他勇敢地傳講上帝的國，教導有關主耶穌基督的事，沒有受到任何攔阻。

耶穌答道：「健康的人不需要醫生，有病的人才需要。

主耶和華的靈在我身上，因為耶和華膏立了我，讓我傳福音給貧窮的人，差遣我醫治傷心的人，宣告被擄的人得釋放、被囚的人得自由；

耶穌上了岸，看見一大群人，心裡憐憫他們，就治好了他們當中的病人。

又差遣他們出去宣講上帝國的福音、醫治病人。

可是，人還沒信祂，怎能求告祂呢？還沒聽說過祂，怎能信祂呢？沒有人傳道，怎能聽說過祂呢？

所以，我告訴你們，將把上帝的國從你們那裡奪去，賜給結果子的人。

由此可見，聽了道，才會信道；有了基督的話，才有道可聽。

耶穌便說：「上帝國的奧祕只讓你們知道，對其他人，我就用比喻，使他們看卻看不見，聽卻聽不明白。

凡父賜給我的人，必到我這裡來。到我這裡來的，我總不丟棄他。

因為基督並沒有專顧自己，正如聖經上說：「辱駡你之人的辱駡都落在我身上。」

可是有許多人看見他們離開，認出了他們，便從各城鎮步行趕往那裡，比他們先到達。耶穌一下船，看見這一大群人好像沒有牧人的羊，心裡憐憫他們，於是教導了他們許多道理。

無論時機好壞，都要堅持傳道，以百般的忍耐和教導督責人、警戒人、勉勵人。

祂使饑餓的得飽足，叫富足的空手而去。

耶穌說：「我的食物就是遵行差我來者的旨意，完成祂的工作。

所以，讓我們坦然無懼地到祂賜恩的寶座前，好領受憐憫和恩典，作隨時的幫助。
