當鷙鳥下來，落在這些屍體上時，亞伯蘭就把牠們趕走了。

耶穌又說：「神的國如同人把種子撒在地上，黑夜睡覺，白日起來，這種子就發芽生長，那人卻不知道如何會這樣。土地自然而然地出產五穀，先發苗，後長穗，然後穗上結成飽滿的穀子。五穀熟了，就用鐮刀去割，因為收成的時候到了。」

「你們是地上的鹽。鹽若失了味，怎能叫它再鹹呢？它不再有用，只好被丟在外面，任人踐踏。

耶穌又設個比喻對他們說：「天國好比人撒好種在田裏，在人睡覺的時候，他的仇敵來，把雜草撒在麥子裏就走了。到長苗吐穗的時候，雜草也顯出來。

耶穌就用許多比喻教導他們。在教導的時候，他對他們說：「你們聽啊，有一個撒種的出去撒種。他撒的時候，有的落在路旁，飛鳥來把它吃掉了。

他用比喻對他們講了許多話。他說：「有一個撒種的出去撒種。他撒的時候，有的落在路旁，飛鳥來把它們吃掉了。

「這比喻是這樣的：種子就是神的道。那些在路旁的，就是人聽了道，隨後魔鬼來，從他們心裏把道奪去，以免他們信了得救。

凡偏離你律例的人，你都輕看他們，因為他們的詭詐必歸虛空。

「所以，你們要聽這撒種的比喻。凡聽見天國的道而不明白的，那惡者就來，把撒在他心裏的奪了去；這就是撒在路旁的了。
