And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:

Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader, came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come to his house

And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death:[ I pray thee], come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.And[ Jesus] went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in[ her] body that she was healed of that plague.And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s[ house certain] which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was[ of the age] of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s[ house], saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.

And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying,[ Ye] men[ and] brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat[ him] before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.

While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.And Jesus arose, and followed him, and[ so did] his disciples.And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind[ him], and touched the hem of his garment:For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.

And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring[ him] that he would not delay to come to them.

Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.

When Simon Peter saw[ it], he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

And fell down on[ his] face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four[ and] twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
