And there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and seeing him, he falleth at his feet,and beseecheth him much, saying, My little daughter is at the point of death: I pray thee, that thou come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be made whole, and live.And he went with him; and a great multitude followed him, and they thronged him.And a woman, who had an issue of blood twelve years,and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,having heard the things concerning Jesus, came in the crowd behind, and touched his garment.For she said, If I touch but his garments, I shall be made whole.And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her plague.And straightway Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power proceeding from him had gone forth, turned him about in the crowd, and said, Who touched my garments?And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.While he yet spake, they come from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Teacher any further?But Jesus, not heeding the word spoken, saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not, only believe.And he suffered no man to follow with him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.And they come to the house of the ruler of the synagogue; and he beholdeth a tumult, and many weeping and wailing greatly.And when he was entered in, he saith unto them, Why make ye a tumult, and weep? the child is not dead, but sleepeth.And they laughed him to scorn. But he, having put them all forth, taketh the father of the child and her mother and them that were with him, and goeth in where the child was.And taking the child by the hand, he saith unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, Arise.And straightway the damsel rose up, and walked; for she was twelve years old. And they were amazed straightway with a great amazement.And he charged them much that no man should know this: and he commanded that something should be given her to eat.

While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Teacher.

And the ruler of the synagogue, being moved with indignation because Jesus had healed on the sabbath, answered and said to the multitude, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the day of the sabbath.

And Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

And they all laid hold on Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment- seat. And Gallio cared for none of these things.

And the woman was made whole from that hour.And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute- players, and the crowd making a tumult,he said, Give place: for the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.But when the crowd was put forth, he entered in, and took her by the hand; and the damsel arose.And the fame hereof went forth into all that land.

And as Lydda was nigh unto Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men unto him, entreating him, Delay not to come on unto us.

Martha therefore said unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

He came therefore again unto Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judæa into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.Jesus therefore said unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will in no wise believe.The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.

But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

And he saith unto him, I will come and heal him.And the centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof; but only say the word, and my servant shall be healed.

and he fell upon his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

And when he had taken the book, the four living creatures and the four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having each one a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
