耶穌繼續說：「人會把燈拿來放在籃子底下或床底下嗎？當然不會，他一定會把它放在燈臺上。隱藏的事是不能掩蓋的，終會顯露出來。

好使你們在這個彎曲敗壞的時代中無可指責、誠實無偽，作上帝純潔無瑕的兒女，如同明光照耀在世上，堅守生命之道。這樣，到了基督再來的時候，我可以誇口自己沒有空跑一場，也沒有白費功夫。

你所看見在我右手中的七顆星和七個金燈臺的奧祕是，七顆星代表七間教會的天使，七個燈臺代表七間教會。「你要寫信告訴以弗所教會的天使，那位右手拿著七顆星、往來於七個金燈臺中间的主說，

人點亮了燈，不會把它放在斗底下，而是放在燈臺上，好照亮全家。同樣，你們的光也應當照在人面前，好讓他們看見你們的好行為，便讚美你們天上的父。

這兩位見證人就是豎立在世界之主面前的那兩棵橄欖樹和兩座燈臺。
