耶稣继续说：“人会把灯拿来放在篮子底下或床底下吗？当然不会，他一定会把它放在灯台上。隐藏的事是不能掩盖的，终会显露出来。

好使你们在这个弯曲败坏的时代中无可指责、诚实无伪，做上帝纯洁无瑕的儿女，如同明光照耀在世上，坚守生命之道。这样，到了基督再来的时候，我可以夸口自己没有空跑一场，也没有白费功夫。

你所看见在我右手中的七颗星和七个金灯台的奥秘是，七颗星代表七间教会的天使，七个灯台代表七间教会。“你要写信告诉以弗所教会的天使，那位右手拿着七颗星、往来于七个金灯台中间的主说，

人点亮了灯，不会把它放在斗底下，而是放在灯台上，好照亮全家。同样，你们的光也应当照在人面前，好让他们看见你们的好行为，便赞美你们天上的父。

这两位见证人就是竖立在世界之主面前的那两棵橄榄树和两座灯台。
