众百姓和税吏听了这番话，都承认上帝是公义的，因为他们接受了约翰的洗礼。

众百姓和税吏既受过约翰的洗，听见这话，就以神为义；

( All the people, even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus’ words, acknowledged that God’s way was right, because they had been baptized by John.

有些税吏也来受洗，并问约翰：“老师，我们该怎么办呢？”

然而，智慧会在追求智慧的人身上得到验证。”

口里唱着上帝的奴仆摩西的歌和羔羊的歌：“全能的主上帝啊，你的作为伟大奇妙！万国的王啊，你的道路公义真实！

当然不会！纵然人人都撒谎，上帝仍然真实可靠。正如圣经上说：“你的判语证明你是公义的；你虽被人控告，却终必得胜。”我姑且用人的观点说：“如果我们的不义可以反衬出上帝的公义，我们该做何论？上帝向我们发怒是祂不公正吗？”当然不是！若是这样，上帝怎么能审判这世界呢？

他在主的道上曾受过栽培，心里火热，能正确地讲解和教导有关耶稣的事，但他只知道约翰的洗礼。

我犯罪得罪了你，唯独得罪了你，做了你看为邪恶的事，所以你对我的责备是正当的，你对我的审判是公正的。

保罗说：“那么，你们受的是什么洗礼呢？”他们说：“是约翰的洗礼。”

“你们认为这两个儿子，到底哪一个服从父亲呢？”他们回答道：“大儿子。”耶稣说：“我实在告诉你们，税吏和娼妓要比你们先进上帝的国。因为约翰来指示你们当行的正路，你们不信他，但税吏和娼妓信了。你们亲眼看见了这些事，竟然还是执迷不悟，不肯信他。

我听见掌管各水源的天使说：“昔在今在的圣者啊！你是公义的，因为你施行了审判。

他们不知道上帝所赐的义，想努力建立自己的义，不肯服从上帝的义。

那时，耶路撒冷、犹太各地和约旦河一带的人都来到约翰那里，承认他们的罪，在约旦河里接受他的洗礼。

亚多尼·比色说：“从前七十个王的大拇指和大脚趾被我砍掉，在我桌下捡食物碎屑，现在上帝照我的行为报应我了。”他们把他带到耶路撒冷，他死在了那里。
