我实在告诉你们，凡妇人所生的，没有一个兴起来大过施洗约翰的；然而天国里最小的比他还大。

耶稣转身暗暗地对门徒说：“看见你们所看见的，那眼睛就有福了。我告诉你们，从前有许多先知和君王要看你们所看的，却没有看见，要听你们所听的，却没有听见。”

“但你们的眼睛是有福的，因为看见了；你们的耳朵也是有福的，因为听见了。我实在告诉你们，从前有许多先知和义人要看你们所看的，却没有看见，要听你们所听的，却没有听见。”

我照神为你们所赐我的职分作了教会的执事，要把神的道理传得全备，这道理就是历世历代所隐藏的奥秘；但如今向他的圣徒显明了。神愿意叫他们知道，这奥秘在外邦人中有何等丰盛的荣耀，就是基督在你们心里成了有荣耀的盼望。

我本来比众圣徒中最小的还小，然而他还赐我这恩典，叫我把基督那测不透的丰富传给外邦人，又使众人都明白，这历代以来隐藏在创造万物之神里的奥秘，是如何安排的，

约翰说：“我是用水给你们施洗，但有一位能力比我更大的要来，我就是给他解鞋带也不配。他要用圣灵与火给你们施洗。

论到这救恩，那预先说你们要得恩典的众先知早已详细地寻求考察，就是考察在他们心里基督的灵，预先证明基督受苦难，后来得荣耀，是指着什么时候，并怎样的时候。他们得了启示，知道他们所传讲的一切事，不是为自己，乃是为你们。那靠着从天上差来的圣灵传福音给你们的人，现在将这些事报给你们；天使也愿意详细察看这些事。

对他们说：“凡为我名接待这小孩子的，就是接待我；凡接待我的，就是接待那差我来的。你们中间最小的，他便为大。”

你必欢喜快乐；有许多人因他出世，也必喜乐。他在主面前将要为大，淡酒浓酒都不喝，从母腹里就被圣灵充满了。

这些人都是因信得了美好的证据，却仍未得着所应许的；因为神给我们预备了更美的事，叫他们若不与我们同得，就不能完全。
