I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there is none greater than John: yet he that is but little in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

And turning to the disciples, he said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:for I say unto you, that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which ye see, and saw them not; and to hear the things which ye hear, and heard them not.

But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.For verily I say unto you, that many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things which ye see, and saw them not; and to hear the things which ye hear, and heard them not.

whereof I was made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which was given me to you- ward, to fulfil the word of God,even the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to his saints,to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;and to make all men see what is the dispensation of the mystery which for ages hath been hid in God who created all things;

John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but there cometh he that is mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and in fire:

Concerning which salvation the prophets sought and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:searching what time or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did point unto, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow them.To whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you, did they minister these things, which now have been announced unto you through them that preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Spirit sent forth from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.

and said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this little child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same is great.

And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and he shall drink no wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

And these all, having had witness borne to them through their faith, received not the promise,God having provided some better thing concerning us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.
