維時有施洗約翰來、在猶太曠野宣道曰、爾當悔改、因天國近矣、此人乃先知以賽亞所指者曰、野有聲呼云、備主道、直其徑、約翰衣駝毛、腰束皮帶、食則蝗蟲野蜜、斯時耶路撒冷、猶太徧境、及約但一帶之人、咸出就之、

彼眾如無水之井、如飛雲為狂風所飄、無際之幽暗、為之永存、

答曰、我即聲呼於野云直主道者、如先知以賽亞所言、

約翰在曠野施洗、傳悔改之洗禮、俾罪得赦、舉猶太地與耶路撒冷人、皆出就約翰、各認己罪、在約但河受其洗、

飄蕩或作沸然如水、不可越弟、蓋登父床、污穢我榻、○
