他们诬陷人，暗算审判官，冤枉无辜。

我听见许多人窃窃私语：“看那个说‘四面有恐怖’的人，我们告发他！告发他！”我的好友都盼着我灭亡，说：“或许他会受骗，那样我们便能打倒他，一泄心头之恨。”

他们就问他：“祂向你做了些什么？祂是怎样医好你眼睛的？”他回答说：“我已经告诉过你们了，你们不听，现在又问，难道你们也想做祂的门徒吗？”他们就骂他：“你才是祂的门徒！我们是摩西的门徒。我们知道上帝曾对摩西讲话，至于这个人，我们不知道祂是从哪里来的。”

谋害我的人设下陷阱，想害我的人威胁我，整天图谋奸计。

有些法利赛人说：“那个人不是从上帝那里来的，因为祂不守安息日。”有些人却说：“如果祂是个罪人，又怎能行这样的神迹呢？”他们就争论起来。

犹太人便对那人说：“今天是安息日，你不可拿着垫子走路。”他说：“那位医好我的叫我拿起垫子走。”他们问他：“叫你拿起垫子走的人是谁？”那人不知道是谁，因为那里人多，耶稣已经躲开了。后来，耶稣在圣殿里遇见他，对他说：“现在你已经完全好了，别再犯罪了，免得你遭遇更不幸的事。”那人便去告诉犹太人医好他的是耶稣。因为耶稣在安息日给人治病，犹太人开始迫害祂。
