The mouth of the righteous talks of wisdom. His tongue speaks justice.The law of his God is in his heart. None of his steps shall slide.

For the sin of their mouth, and the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride, for the curses and lies which they utter.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.

There is one who speaks rashly like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise heals.

So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest!And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna.For every kind of animal, bird, creeping thing, and sea creature, is tamed, and has been tamed by mankind;but nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.You love evil more than good, lying rather than speaking the truth. Selah.You love all devouring words, you deceitful tongue.

The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver. The heart of the wicked is of little worth.The lips of the righteous feed many, but the foolish die for lack of understanding.

“ Their throat is an open tomb. With their tongues they have used deceit.”“ The poison of vipers is under their lips.”“ Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”

Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

Everyone lies to his neighbor. They speak with flattering lips, and with a double heart.May Yahweh cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that boasts,who have said,“ With our tongue we will prevail. Our lips are our own. Who is lord over us?”

I delight to do your will, my God. Yes, your law is within my heart.”I have proclaimed glad news of righteousness in the great assembly. Behold, I will not seal my lips, Yahweh, you know.I have not hidden your righteousness within my heart. I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation. who sharpen their tongue like a sword, and aim their arrows, deadly words,to shoot innocent men from ambushes. They shoot at him suddenly and fearlessly.They encourage themselves in evil plans. They talk about laying snares secretly. They say,“ Who will see them?”They plot injustice, saying,“ We have made a perfect plan!” Surely man’s mind and heart are cunning.But God will shoot at them. They will be suddenly struck down with an arrow.Their own tongues shall ruin them. All who see them will shake their heads.

My mouth will tell about your righteousness, and of your salvation all day, though I don’t know its full measure.I will come with the mighty acts of the Lord Yahweh. I will make mention of your righteousness, even of yours alone.God, you have taught me from my youth. Until now, I have declared your wondrous works.Yes, even when I am old and gray- haired, God, don’t forsake me, until I have declared your strength to the next generation, your might to everyone who is to come.

The proud have hidden a snare for me, they have spread the cords of a net by the path. They have set traps for me. Selah.

Joy comes to a man with the reply of his mouth. How good is a word at the right time!

Behold, they spew with their mouth. Swords are in their lips,“ For”, they say,“ who hears us?”

To me, the very least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,
