就在這時候，耶穌因聖靈而歡樂，說：“父啊，天地的主，我讚美你，因為你把這些事向智慧和聰明的人隱藏起來，卻向嬰孩顯明。父啊，是的，這就是你的美意。

耶和華說：“我的意念不是你們的意念，你們的道路也不是我的道路。

這女人是外族人，屬於敘利亞的腓尼基族。她求耶穌把鬼從她女兒身上趕出去。耶穌對她說：“應該先讓兒女吃飽。拿兒女的餅去丟給小狗吃是不好的。”那女人回答他：“主啊，是的，不過小狗在桌子底下，也可以吃孩子們掉下來的碎渣。”耶穌對她說：“就憑這句話，你回去吧，鬼已經從你女兒身上出去了。”

他照著自己在基督裡預先安排的美意，使我們知道他旨意的奧祕，

因為他對摩西說：“我要憐憫誰，就憐憫誰；我要恩待誰，就恩待誰。”

那憑著自己旨意所計劃而行萬事的，按著他預先所安排的，預定我們在基督裡得基業（“得基業”或譯：“成為神的產業”），

你這個人哪，你是誰，竟敢跟神頂嘴呢？被造的怎麼可以對造他的說：“你為甚麼把我做成這個樣子呢？”
