All spoke well of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his lips.“ Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” they asked.

此非約瑟子耶穌乎、其父母我儕識之、何言由天降耶、

明心可以言慧、巽言可以輔人、

至故土、在會堂教誨、眾奇之曰、斯人焉得斯智慧異能乎、此非木工之子乎、其母非名馬利亞、其兄弟非雅各、約西、西門、猶大乎、其姊妹非與我比鄰乎、斯焉得斯耶、

王兮、爾較世人、尤為美兮、口出嘉言、上帝祝汝、永世靡暨兮。

受膏者曰、主耶和華助予、使我崇朝儆醒傾耳諦聽若弟子之受教、如是則能善為說辭、慰藉困苦之人。

適安息日、耶穌於會堂教誨、眾聽、奇曰、斯焉得斯、所賦智慧、何其大耶、蓋此異能、自其手出、此非馬利亞子木工乎、非雅各、約西、猶大、西門兄弟乎、其姊妹非與我比鄰乎、遂厭而棄之、

所言宜正、無可辯駁、俾背理者自愧勵、不以惡言相加、

我所云嘉言也、所錄實語也、哲士之言、譬諸刺、譬諸釘、一主所諭、眾師所傳。

士提反慧心銳志而言、眾不能勝、

吏曰、此人所言、從未有若是者也、

應對以時、猶金果置於銀筐。

吹氣若蘭、洵可愛也。耶路撒冷女乎、我之夫子若此。

聞者奇其穎悟、善應對、

蓋我將賜爾口才智慧、使諸仇不能辯駁敵對、

義人知所當言、惡者吐詞不善。

乘車顯赫、惟仁義與信是佑、有戰必勝、使人畏懼兮、
