有人把以赛亚先知书递给祂，祂打开书卷，找到这样一段经文：

只是无从下手，因为百姓都十分喜爱听祂讲道。

第二天清晨，祂又回到圣殿。百姓聚集在祂那里，祂就坐下来教导他们。

那时，耶稣对众人说：“你们像对付强盗一样拿着刀棍来抓我吗？我天天在圣殿里教导人，你们并没有来抓我。

安息日那天，我们到城外的河边，知道那里有一个祷告的地方，就坐下来，向已经聚集的妇女讲道。

耶稣看见这些人群，就上了山，刚坐下，门徒便走到祂跟前，祂就开口教导他们，说：

就上了西门的那条船，请西门把船稍微划离岸边，然后坐在船上教导众人。

你们中间，谁要当首领，谁就要做大家的仆人；谁要居首位，谁就要做大家的奴仆。正如人子不是来受人服侍，而是来服侍人，并且牺牲性命，作许多人的赎价。”

他们由别加继续前行，来到彼西底区的安提阿。在安息日那天，他们进了会堂坐下来。读完律法书和先知书后，会堂主管派人告诉他们：“弟兄们，如果你们有什么劝勉众人的话，请讲。”保罗站起来向大家挥手示意，说：“各位以色列同胞和各位敬畏上帝的外族朋友们，请听我说。

当天，耶稣离开房子，坐在湖边。有一大群人聚集到祂周围，祂只好上船坐下，众人都站在岸上。

彼得看见这情形，就对大家说：“以色列人啊，何必惊奇呢？为什么一直盯着我们呢？你们以为我们是凭自己的能力和虔诚叫这人行走吗？
