随后，他的弟弟也出来了，他的手抓住以扫的脚跟，因此就给他起名叫雅各。利百加生下两个儿子的时候，以撒年正六十岁。

亚伯拉罕给撒拉为他所生的儿子，起名叫以撒。

神也赐他割礼为约。这样，亚伯拉罕生了以撒，第八天就给他行了割礼。后来，以撒生雅各，雅各生了十二位祖先。

拿鹤活到二十九岁，就生了他拉。拿鹤生他拉以后，又活了一百一十九年，并且生了其他的儿女。他拉活到七十岁，就生了亚伯兰、拿鹤和哈兰。以下是他拉的后代：他拉生亚伯兰、拿鹤和哈兰；哈兰生罗得。哈兰在他父亲他拉之前，死在他出生之地，就是迦勒底的吾珥。亚伯兰和拿鹤都娶了妻子；亚伯兰的妻子名叫撒莱；拿鹤的妻子名叫密迦，是哈兰的女儿；哈兰是密迦和亦迦的父亲。撒莱不能生育，没有孩子。他拉带着他的儿子亚伯兰和他的孙子，就是哈兰的儿子罗得，以及他的媳妇亚伯兰的妻子撒莱，一同出了迦勒底的吾珥，要到迦南地去；他们到了哈兰，就住在那里。他拉死在哈兰；他的寿数共二百零五岁。

闪、亚法撒、沙拉、希伯、法勒、拉吴、西鹿、拿鹤、他拉、亚伯兰，亚伯兰就是亚伯拉罕。亚伯拉罕的儿子是以撒和以实玛利。

约书亚对众民说：“耶和华以色列的神这样说：‘古时你们的列祖，就是亚伯拉罕和拿鹤的父亲他拉，住在大河那边；他们事奉别的神。

亚伯拉罕生以撒。以撒的儿子是以扫和以色列。
