And soldiers also asked him, saying, And we, what must we do? And he said unto them, Extort from no man by violence, neither accuse any one wrongfully; and be content with your wages.

又有兵丁问他说：“我们当做什么呢？”约翰说：“不要以强暴待人，也不要讹诈人，自己有钱粮就当知足。”

也有士兵问他说：“我们该做什么呢？”约翰说：“不要勒索任何人，也不要敲诈人；自己有粮饷就该知足。”

也有士兵问他说：“我们该做什么呢？”约翰说：“不要勒索任何人，也不要敲诈人；自己有粮饷就该知足。”

有些军人问：“我们该怎么办呢？”约翰说：“不可敲诈勒索，自己有粮饷就当知足。”

兵丁也问他：“至于我们，我们又应当作什么呢？”他说：“不要恐吓，不要敲诈，当以自己的粮饷为满足。”

有些当兵的也问他，说：“那么我们呢？我们该做什么呢？”约翰说：“不要敲诈任何人，也不要勒索人，当以自己的粮饷为满足。”

當兵的也問他說：『我們呢、我們要作甚麼？』約翰對他們說：『不要恫嚇勒索人，也不要訛詐人，要以你們的糧餉為足。』

有些當兵的也問他，說：「那麼我們呢？我們該做什麼呢？」約翰說：「不要敲詐任何人，也不要勒索人，當以自己的糧餉為滿足。」

有軍士問曰、我當何為、曰、毋強暴、毋誣詐、惟安爾餉、○

軍士問曰、我當何為、曰、勿強索人、勿誣詐人、以所得之糧足矣、○

兵卒亦問曰、我當何為、曰、勿強索人、勿誣詐人、以所得之糧為足、○

軍士亦問曰：『吾儕如何？』曰：『毋凌人！毋誣人！安於餉。』

Then some soldiers asked him,“ And what should we do?” He replied,“ Don’t extort money and don’t accuse people falsely— be content with your pay.”

Then some soldiers asked him,“ And what should we do?” John replied,“ Don’t force people to give you money. Don’t bring false charges against people. Be happy with your pay.”

Soldiers also asked him,“ And we, what shall we do?” And he said to them,“ Do not extort money from anyone by threats or by false accusation, and be content with your wages.”

“ What should we do?” asked some soldiers. John replied,“ Don’t extort money or make false accusations. And be content with your pay.”

Some soldiers also questioned him,“ What should we do?” He said to them,“ Don’t take money from anyone by force or false accusation, and be satisfied with your wages.”

And soldiers also were questioning him, saying,“ What are we to do, we as well?” And he said to them,“ Do not extort money from anyone, nor harass anyone, and be content with your wages.”

Likewise the soldiers asked him, saying,“ And what shall we do?” So he said to them,“ Do not intimidate anyone or accuse falsely, and be content with your wages.”

Some soldiers also questioned him:“ What should we do?” He said to them,“ Don’t take money from anyone by force or false accusation; be satisfied with your wages.”

And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse[ any] falsely; and be content with your wages.

Then some soldiers also asked him,“ And as for us– what should we do?” He told them,“ Take money from no one by violence or by false accusation, and be content with your pay.”

Soldiers also asked him, saying,“ What about us? What must we do?” He said to them,“ Extort from no one by violence, neither accuse anyone wrongfully. Be content with your wages.”

Thou shalt not take up a false report: put not thy hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therein to be content.

Ye shall not steal; neither shall ye deal falsely, nor lie one to another.

Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee.So that with good courage we say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear: What shall man do unto me?

but having food and covering we shall be therewith content.But they that are minded to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, such as drown men in destruction and perdition.For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil: which some reaching after have been led astray from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

And Zacchæus stood, and said unto the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have wrongfully exacted aught of any man, I restore fourfold.

And when he was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,

And when the angel that spake unto him was departed, he called two of his household- servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not covet, and if there be any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: love therefore is the fulfilment of the law.

that ye may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom ye are seen as lights in the world,

And I heard a great voice in heaven, saying, Now is come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accuseth them before our God day and night.

that aged women likewise be reverent in demeanor, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good;
