他說：『大蒙眷愛的人哪，你不要懼怕！願你安心！你要剛強，要剛強！』他一跟我說話，我便覺得堅強起來；我就說：『大師請說：因為你已加強我的力氣了。』

撒迦利亞看見，就大為震盪，覺得懼怕。天使對他說，『撒迦利亞，別怕了；因為你的祈求已蒙垂聽、你的妻子以利沙伯必給你生個兒子，你要給他起名叫約翰。

『你要寫信給在士每拿教會的使者說：『「那首先的、末後的、曾經死又活過來的、這麼說：

忽有一位像人形相的摸觸着我的嘴脣，我便開口說話；我向那站在我面前的說：『大師啊，我因見這景象，猛然傷痛，連力氣都持不住了。

他的像貌如同閃電，他的衣服白得像雪。由於怕他的緣故，看守的人都發抖震顫，像死人一般。天使應時對婦女說：『別懼怕了！我知道你們是尋找那釘十字架的耶穌的。

這景象、惟有我但以理獨自一人看見，同我在一起的人都沒有看見這景象；然而他們卻大大顫抖，逃跑去藏匿着。只剩下我獨自一人；我見了這大景象，便渾身全無餘力；我的美貌變色，力氣都持不住。我卻聽見他說話的聲音；我一聽見他說話的聲音，就伏臉、昏昏沉睡——臉伏至地。忽有一隻手跟我接觸，使我用膝蓋和手掌趴在地上而發抖震顫。他對我說：『大蒙眷愛的人、但以理啊，你要注意我所對你說的話，只管站起來，因為我現在是奉差遣來找你的。』他跟我說了這話，我便站起來、直哆嗦。他就對我說：『但以理啊，你不要懼怕，因為從你用心求明白這些事、又在你的上帝面前刻苦自己那頭一天起，你禱告的話就蒙應允；我就是因你的話而來的。

他便走近我所站的地方；他一來到，我就驚惶失措，臉伏於地。他對我說：『人子啊，你要明白這異象是關於末了時期的。』他同我說話的時候，我昏昏沉睡、臉伏於地；他就摸我，扶我站起來。

馬利亞卻因這話而震盪不安，就反復思想這請安到底甚麼意思。

大約白天三點，他在異象中顯然看見上帝的一個天使進來找他，對他說：『哥尼流。』哥尼流定睛看他，很覺得懼怕，就說：『是甚麼事呢，主啊？』天使對他說：『你的禱告你的施捨已經上升，在上帝面前蒙記住了。

在這裏，那收取了十分之一的、是能死的人；在那裏，卻是那位被證為「長遠活着的」。
