The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said,“ He saved others; let him save himself if he is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.”

And the people stood by, watching, but the rulers scoffed at him, saying,“ He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, his Chosen One!”

The crowd watched and the leaders scoffed.“ He saved others,” they said,“ let him save himself if he is really God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.”

The people stood watching, and even the leaders were scoffing:“ He saved others; let him save himself if this is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One!”

And the people stood by, watching. And even the rulers were sneering at Him, saying,“ He saved others; let Him save Himself if this is the Christ of God, His Chosen One.”

惡犬環縈兮。群小蜂聚。

自宜欣然就之。渠乃具有生命之磐石、世人之所擯棄、而天主之所器重也。

『斯乃吾僕、吾所簡擢；吾愛所鍾、吾心所樂；賦以吾神、宣義萬族；

貪婪成性之法利塞人、一聞此語、即嗤笑之、

莫令昧良者。欣然看我蹶。無故樂我禍。眉目傳悅懌。所議非和平。所懷惟詭譎。域中善良人。不得享安逸。見我遭顛沛。群逆笑嚇嚇。吾目亦何幸。得覩此一日。姦情實昭著。吾主寧不察。祈主毋遐棄。一伸吾之直。發揚爾正義。無令終受屈。莫使彼群小。洋洋喜氣溢。彈冠共相慶。竟將彼吞滅。

惟不欲因予之故兮。而貽恃主者以慚惶。更不欲因予之故兮。而致求主者之失望。夫予之蒙恥而受辱兮。非為主之故乎。即吾同胞之兄弟兮。亦因是而視予為陌路。忠心耿耿以衛聖宅兮。一腔熱血。為主而任勞任怨兮。身成眾矢之的。世人見予含淚而守齋兮。舉狺狺然而非之。見予披麻以為衣兮。復振振焉而嗤之。

『爾苟為基督、請明以見告。』耶穌曰：『予告爾、爾不信也。予問爾、爾不應也。今而後、人子將坐於全能者天主之右矣。』眾曰：『然則爾為天主之子乎？』對曰：『然、爾言是也。』

呼籲公明主。為我伸冤屈。昔曾出我厄。令我得安逸。今者復求主。垂憐申舊德。

今大難已臨而援手無人兮。吾主寧能捐棄而不顧。健牡紛紛兮。圍我周匝。來自巴珊兮。洶洶相逼。

一朝我罹難。欣然相慶祝。落井更投石。心中懷叵測。

僉曰主所絕。彼又無人濟。吾人盍追擊。執之反掌易。

且有音發自天上曰：『是吾愛子、慰悅我心。』

願其居室之成墟。

過者莫不搖首而訕之曰：『噫嘻！爾毀聖殿、而於三曰重建之者！盍自救乎？可自架而下矣！』大司祭及經生輩亦相與肆其嘲弄曰：『何彼之善於救人、而拙於救己也！基督義塞王！盍自架上降來、俾吾儕亦得見而信之乎？』即同釘之盜、亦冷笑之。

時有二盜、與耶穌同釘、一在右、一在左。過者搖首而誚之曰：『吁、爾既能毀聖殿、而於三日內復建之、蓋自救歟！爾果為天主之子、盍自脫於架。』司祭長經生耆老亦嘲曰：『彼能救人、不能救己。彼非義塞之王乎？盍自脫於架、俾我信之。彼既依恃天主、苟為天主所寵、天主當來救護、以彼自稱天主子故。』

但聞籲主而見拯兮。焉有倚主而蒙羞。謇予乃蚯蚓而非人兮。為萬民所唾棄而受天下之垢。覩予者皆大施其嘲嗤兮。相與反其唇而搖其首。
