Now He was saying this to indicate what kind of death He was going to die.The crowd then answered Him,“ We have heard from the Law that the Christ is to remain forever; and how is it that You say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”

this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death.

“ You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man is to be handed over for crucifixion.”

For dogs have surrounded me; A band of evildoers has encompassed me; They pierced my hands and my feet.

his body is not to be left overnight on the tree, but you shall certainly bury him on the same day( for he who is hanged is cursed of God), so that you do not defile your land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance.

And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you put to death by hanging Him on a cross.

This happened so that the word of Jesus which He said, indicating what kind of death He was going to die, would be fulfilled.

and they will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and flog and crucify, and on the third day He will be raised up.”
