他們就把耶穌帶了去。耶穌背着自己的十字架出來，到了一個地方，名叫「髑髏地」，希伯來話叫各各他。他們就在那裏釘他在十字架上，還有兩個人和他一同釘着，一邊一個，耶穌在中間。

到了一個地方名叫各各他，意思就是「髑髏地」。兵丁拿苦膽調和的酒給耶穌喝；他嘗了，就不肯喝。

他們帶耶穌到了各各他地方（各各他翻出來就是髑髏地），拿沒藥調和的酒給耶穌，他卻不受。

說：『人子必須被交在罪人手裏，釘在十字架上，第三日復活。』」

「我必將那施恩叫人懇求的靈，澆灌大衛家和耶路撒冷的居民。他們必仰望我，就是他們所扎的；必為我悲哀，如喪獨生子，又為我愁苦，如喪長子。

耶穌這話原是指着自己將要怎樣死說的。眾人回答說：「我們聽見律法上有話說，基督是永存的，你怎麼說『人子必須被舉起來』呢？這人子是誰呢？」

他既按着神的定旨先見被交與人，你們就藉着無法之人的手，把他釘在十字架上，殺了。

「你們知道，過兩天是逾越節，人子將要被交給人，釘在十字架上。」

犬類圍着我，惡黨環繞我；他們扎了我的手，我的腳。

既成就了經上指着他所記的一切話，就把他從木頭上取下來，放在墳墓裏。

基督既為我們受了咒詛，就贖出我們脫離律法的咒詛；因為經上記着：「凡掛在木頭上都是被咒詛的。」

所以，耶穌要用自己的血叫百姓成聖，也就在城門外受苦。這樣，我們也當出到營外，就了他去，忍受他所受的凌辱。

他被掛在木頭上，親身擔當了我們的罪，使我們既然在罪上死，就得以在義上活。因他受的鞭傷，你們便得了醫治。

「看哪，我們上耶路撒冷去，人子將要被交給祭司長和文士，他們要定他死罪，交給外邦人。他們要戲弄他，吐唾沫在他臉上，鞭打他，殺害他。過了三天，他要復活。」

他的屍首不可留在木頭上過夜，必要當日將他葬埋，免得玷污了耶和華－你神所賜你為業之地。因為被掛的人是在神面前受咒詛的。

摩西在曠野怎樣舉蛇，人子也必照樣被舉起來，

你們掛在木頭上殺害的耶穌，我們祖宗的神已經叫他復活。

這要應驗耶穌所說自己將要怎樣死的話了。

又交給外邦人，將他戲弄，鞭打，釘在十字架上；第三日他要復活。」
