十二徒中、有茹答斯亦名依斯加略者、魔入其心、往謁司祭長及司堂董、建議如何交付耶穌、眾皆悅、許以酬金。茹答斯既諾、乃伺良機、欲俟其不與群眾同處時而執之。

當是時也、十二門徒中之一、茹答斯依斯加略、出謁大司祭、欲鬻耶穌。

十二徒中有名茹答斯、依斯加略者、往見司祭長曰：「予如以耶穌獻爾、將何以為酬？」彼輩乃授以銀三十兩。自是茹答斯心存鬻主、將待機而發矣。

耶穌常偕其徒遊此、故奸徒茹答斯亦稔其地。時茹答斯乃領兵士一隊、與司祭長法利塞人所派人員、提燈炬、執武器而至。耶穌夙知諸事之必臨於身、乃出而謂之曰：『爾等覓誰？』眾對曰：『納匝勒之耶穌！』耶穌告之曰：『是我！』時奸徒茹答斯亦立眾中。耶穌甫言：「是我、」眾皆逡巡仆地。耶穌乃復問曰：『爾等覓誰？』眾曰『納匝勒之耶穌也！』耶穌曰：『已語爾是我；既欲執我、請勿累及此輩、任其散去。』此亦所以應驗其所言「凡父所賜於予者、一無所失」云耳。西門伯鐸祿乃抽所佩刃、擊大司祭僕、名馬勒古者、削其右耳。耶穌謂伯鐸祿曰『收刃入鞘、父所賜我之爵、可不飲乎？』

三返、謂徒曰：『為時無多、爾且小休。已矣！時至矣！人子即將被付於罪人之手！可起而行！鬻我者不旋踵而至矣！』言未已、而其十二門徒之一、茹答斯者、果引眾、手刃持梃而至、皆司祭長經生及長老之所派也。先是鬻主者曾予眾以號曰：『我所吻者即是、爾等當執而縛送之。』既至、即趨前呼曰：『夫子！』且當眾而吻之。眾乃下手執之。旁有一人、拔劍擊大司祭之僕、削其耳。耶穌向眾曰：『爾輩持梃手刃、執予如捕盜。曩者予日在爾中、施訓聖殿、而爾輩未嘗執予也；此亦所以應驗經言云耳。』至是眾徒皆棄之而遁。

既返、謂門徒曰：『爾今可臥以暫憩矣！惟時立至、人子將陷於罪人之手。起矣！吾儕行矣！鬻我者近矣！』言際、十二徒之一茹答斯者果至、群人手刃興梃而隨之、蓋均為司祭長及民間耆老所遣者。鬻主者先已示眾以密號曰：『予與親吻者即是、可速執之。』至是乃趨耶穌之前、曰：『夫子平安！』且與之吻。耶穌曰：『友乎、爾來何為？』於是眾蠭擁而至、遂執耶穌。時耶穌從者某、拔刀砍大司祭僕、削其耳。耶穌曰：『納爾刀於鞘！蓋操刀者必傷於刀也。汝試思之、予豈不能求之吾父、即遣十二營以上之天神以臨之？如是則經所載必經之事、又將安從而應驗耶？』顧語眾曰：『爾手刃持梃、捕予一如捕盜。予曩者日坐殿中施訓於爾、何不執之？然此亦所以應驗先知所紀耳。』至是、門徒盡離耶穌、奔逃四散矣。

『兄弟乎！聖神假大維之口、預言茹達斯引捕耶穌、此經已見應驗；彼本與吾儕同列、共任職司；此人以不義所獲、購置一田、嗣身仆腹裂、臟腑迸出。
