and He said to them,“ Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you do not come into temptation.”

就對他們說：『你們為甚麼睡覺呢？起來禱告吧，免得入了試誘。』

謂之曰、何寢乎、起而禱、免入於試、○

謂之曰、何寢也、且起祈禱、免入誘惑、○

謂之曰、何寢也、起而祈禱、免入誘惑、

謂之曰：『胡為睡耶？起而禱！庶免陷誘。』

“ Why are you sleeping?” he asked them.“ Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.”

“ Why are you sleeping?” he asked them.“ Get up! Pray that you won’t fall into sin when you are tempted.”

and he said to them,“ Why are you sleeping? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”

“ Why are you sleeping?” he asked them.“ Get up and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation.”

“ Why are you sleeping?” he asked them.“ Get up and pray, so that you won’t fall into temptation.”

Then He said to them,“ Why do you sleep? Rise and pray, lest you enter into temptation.”

and said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.

“ Why are you sleeping?” He asked them.“ Get up and pray, so that you won’t enter into temptation.”

And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

So he said to them,“ Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you will not fall into temptation!”

and said to them,“ Why do you sleep? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”

Now when He arrived at the place, He said to them,“ Pray that you do not come into temptation.”

“ But be on your guard, so that your hearts will not be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that this day will not come on you suddenly, like a trap;for it will come upon all those who live on the face of all the earth.But stay alert at all times, praying that you will have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

So the captain approached him and said,“ How is it that you are sleeping? Get up, call on your god! Perhaps your god will be concerned about us so that we will not perish.”

Give no sleep to your eyes, Nor slumber to your eyelids;Save yourself like a gazelle from the hunter’s hand, And like a bird from the hand of the fowler.Go to the ant, you lazy one, Observe its ways and be wise,Which, having no chief, Officer, or ruler,Prepares its food in the summer And gathers its provision in the harvest.How long will you lie down, you lazy one? When will you arise from your sleep?“ A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest,”Then your poverty will come in like a drifter, And your need like an armed man.
