喫了餅以後，拿杯也照樣子；他說：『這杯是新的約，用我的血立的；你們每逢喝的時候，總要這樣行，來記念我。』

錫安哪、你，你也如此，為了和你立的約之血、我必將你中間被擄被囚的人從無水坑中釋放出來。

摩西將血潑在人民身上說：『看哪，這是盟約的血：這約是永恆主依據這一切話跟你們立的。』

願賜平安的上帝、就是那憑永世之約的血把羣羊的大牧人、我們的主耶穌、從死人中領上來的、

因為這是我的血，盟約的血，為許多人流出來，使罪得赦免的。

他使我們能夠做新的約之僕役：不是文字上的約，乃是靈的約；因為文字能害死人，靈卻能使人活。

有了死了，遺囑才算確定；立遺囑者還活着時，遺囑總是無效力的。

並有新約的中保耶穌、以及灑撒之血、比亞伯說得更好的。

基督呢、其實基督既已得了更優越的領禮拜職分，他就依這量度、做更好之約的中保了；這個約是憑着更好的應許按律法而立的。假使先前的是無可責備，就不必為一個在後的找地位了。因為上帝真地指摘他的子民說：『看吧，日子必到，主說，我必跟以色列家和猶大家立個新的約。不像我在拉着他們的手、領他們出埃及的日子、同他們列祖所立的那種約；因為他們沒有恆守我的約，我也不理他們，主說。因為那些日子以後，主說，我要同以色列家立的就是以下這種約：我要頒賜我的律法在他們心神裏，我要將那些律法寫在他們心上；我要做他們的上帝，他們要做我的子民。他們各人決不用教導自己的同國人，各人決不用教導自己的弟兄說：「你該認識主」。因為眾人都要認識我，從他們最小的到最大的；因為我要憐赦他們的不義；他們的罪、我決不再記着』。說一個新的，就已使先前的成為舊的了；並且那漸漸故舊而衰老的、就將近於滅沒了。

我們所祝頌的杯、豈不是讓我們一同有分於基督的血麼？我們所擘開的餅、豈不是讓我們一同有分於基督的身體麼？餅既是一個，我們雖多，還是一個身體；因為我們眾人都分享這一個餅。你們看按肉身做以色列人的。那些喫祭物的、豈不是在祭壇上有分麼？那我是說甚麼呢？是說祭偶像之物算得了甚麼呢？還是說偶像算得了甚麼呢？我乃是說外國人所祭獻的、是祭獻給鬼，不是獻與上帝。我不願意你們成了有分於鬼的人。你們不能喝主的杯，又喝鬼的杯；不能分享主的筵席，又分享鬼的筵席啊。

故此基督做了一個新的約的中保，蒙召的人就可以得到所應許的永世基業；因為已經有了受死的事、來贖赦前約之下犯法的罪了。
