“那些日子的災難剛過去：太陽就變黑了，月亮也不發光，眾星從天墜落，天上的萬象震動。

你的兒女必被交給別國的民，你必親眼看見，日日為他們焦慮；你必無能為力。你土地的出產和你勞碌得來的一切，都必被你不認識的民族吃盡；你必常常受壓迫和壓制；你因親眼看見的，必要瘋狂。

眾星從天墜落，天上的萬象震動。

如果我們領受了真理的知識以後，還是故意犯罪，就再沒有留下贖罪的祭品了；只好恐懼地等待著審判，和那快要吞滅眾仇敵的烈火。

但主的日子必要像賊一樣來到。在那日，天必轟然一聲地消失，所有元素都因烈火而融化；地和地上所有的，都要被燒毀（“被燒毀”有不少古抄本作“被發現”）。這一切既然都要這樣融化，你們應當怎樣為人，過著聖潔和敬虔的生活，等候並催促神的日子降臨呢？因為在那日，天要被火焚燒就融化了，所有元素都因烈火而融解！
