The teachers of religious law and the leading priests wanted to arrest Jesus immediately because they realized he was telling the story against them— they were the wicked farmers. But they were afraid of the people’s reaction.Watching for their opportunity, the leaders sent spies pretending to be honest men. They tried to get Jesus to say something that could be reported to the Roman governor so he would arrest Jesus.

One of them was Lydia from Thyatira, a merchant of expensive purple cloth, who worshiped God. As she listened to us, the Lord opened her heart, and she accepted what Paul was saying.

The leading priests and teachers of religious law were plotting how to kill Jesus, but they were afraid of the people’s reaction.Then Satan entered into Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve disciples,and he went to the leading priests and captains of the Temple guard to discuss the best way to betray Jesus to them.
