世子得國而返、命呼予銀之僕來、欲知各獲利幾何、

迨得國而返、傳令召受金諸僕、欲一審其經營之所獲。

“ He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it.

“ But he was made king and returned home. Then he sent for the slaves he had given the money to. He wanted to find out what they had earned with it.

When he returned, having received the kingdom, he ordered these servants to whom he had given the money to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by doing business.

“ After he was crowned king, he returned and called in the servants to whom he had given the money. He wanted to find out what their profits were.

“ At his return, having received the authority to be king, he summoned those servants he had given the money to, so that he could find out how much they had made in business.

When he returned after receiving the kingdom, he ordered that these slaves, to whom he had given the money, be summoned to him so that he would learn how much they had made by the business they had done.

And it came to pass, when he was come back again, having received the kingdom, that he commanded these servants, unto whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by trading.

“ At his return, having received the authority to be king, he summoned those slaves he had given the money to, so he could find out how much they had made in business.

And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.

“ When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.

He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision.Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure:“ Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion.”

So he called him and said to him,‘ What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward.’“ Then the steward said within himself,‘ What shall I do? For my master is taking the stewardship away from me. I cannot dig; I am ashamed to beg.I have resolved what to do, that when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.’“ So he called every one of his master’s debtors to him, and said to the first,‘ How much do you owe my master?’And he said,‘ A hundred measures of oil.’ So he said to him,‘ Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.’Then he said to another,‘ And how much do you owe?’ So he said,‘ A hundred measures of wheat.’ And he said to him,‘ Take your bill, and write eighty.’So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light.“ And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home.He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?“ No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”

But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.For it is written:“ As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.”So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.

Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself.For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord.Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.

But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

After a long time the Lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.

Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents.But as he was not able to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and that payment be made.The servant therefore fell down before him, saying,‘ Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt.“ But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying,‘ Pay me what you owe!’So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying,‘ Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt.So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done.Then his master, after he had called him, said to him,‘ You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me.should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him.“ So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses.”
