财主便把管家召来，对他说，‘听说你浪费我的财物，到底是怎么回事？把帐目交代清楚，你不能再当管家了。’“管家私下盘算，‘主人要辞退我了，怎么办呢？锄地我没有力气，讨饭我又感到羞耻。我知道该怎么办了！就算被辞退了，也会有人照应我。’于是，他把欠他主人债的一个一个召来，问第一个，‘你欠了我主人多少？’“他回答说，‘一百桶油。’“管家说，‘这是你的帐，快坐下，改成五十吧！’“管家又问另一个，‘你欠多少？’“他回答说，‘一百石麦子。’“管家说，‘这是你的帐，改成八十石吧。’“主人夸奖这个不义的管家精明。因为今世的儿女在处理世事方面比光明的儿女更精明。“我告诉你们，要善用今世的钱财，广结朋友。这样，当钱财不管用时，他们会接你们到永远的居所。“一个人在小事上忠心，在大事上也会忠心；在小事上靠不住，在大事上更靠不住。如果你们不能忠心地处理今世的财富，谁会把真正的财富交托给你们呢？如果你们不能忠心地处理别人的产业，谁会把你们名下的产业交给你们呢？一个仆人不能服侍两位主人，因为他不是恨这位、爱那位，就是重这位、轻那位。你们不能又事奉上帝，又崇拜金钱。”

那么，你为什么论断弟兄姊妹呢？为什么轻视弟兄姊妹呢？将来我们都要一同站在上帝的审判台前。圣经上说：“主说，‘我凭我的永恒起誓，万膝必向我跪拜，万口必称颂上帝。’”这样看来，我们各人都要在上帝面前陈明自己一切的事。

因此，人应该把我们当作是基督的仆人，是上帝奥秘之事的管家。对管家的要求是忠心。我对你们或别人给我的评价毫不介意，我也不评价我自己。就算我今日问心无愧，也不能自以为义，因为评价我的是主。所以，时候未到，不可妄下断语。到主耶稣再来的时候，祂会揭开暗中的隐情，使人心里的动机显露。到时候上帝会给各人应得的称赞。

但因不知道而做了该受惩罚之事的仆人，必少受责打。多给谁，就向谁多取；多托付谁，就向谁多要。

过了很久，这些奴仆的主人回来了，要跟他们结帐。

“因此，天国就像一个王，他要跟奴仆清算债务。正开始清算的时候，有人带着一个欠了六千万银币的人进来。因为这个人无法清还债款，王就下令把他及其妻儿和所有财产全部卖掉还债。那奴仆跪在王面前乞求说，‘请宽容我，我会把债务全部还清的。’王可怜他，不但释放了他，而且免了他全部的债。“可是，那奴仆出去后，遇见一位欠他一百个银币的同伴，就揪住同伴，掐着他的喉咙说，‘还我钱！’同伴跪下哀求道，‘请宽容我，我会还你的。’“那奴仆却不肯，竟把同伴送进监狱，直到他还清债务为止。其他的奴仆目睹这一切，都愤愤不平，把这件事告诉了王。“于是，王把那奴仆召来，说，‘你这可恶的奴才！你哀求我，我就免了你所有的债。难道你不应该怜悯你的同伴，就像我怜悯你一样吗？’王大怒，下令把他交给狱卒受刑，直到他还清全部的债务。如果你们不从心里饶恕自己的弟兄，我的天父也要这样对待你们。”
