He said therefore,“ A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.

He said:“ A man of noble birth went to a distant country to have himself appointed king and then to return.

Jesus said,“ A man from an important family went to a country far away. He went there to be made king and then return home.

He said therefore,“ A nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and then return.

He said,“ A nobleman was called away to a distant empire to be crowned king and then return.

Therefore he said,“ A nobleman traveled to a far country to receive for himself authority to be king and then to return.

So He said,“ A nobleman went to a distant country to receive a kingdom for himself, and then to return.

Therefore He said:“ A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.

“ For it is like a man, going into another country, who called his own servants, and entrusted his goods to them.To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his own ability. Then he went on his journey.Immediately he who received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.In the same way, he also who got the two gained another two.But he who received the one talent went away and dug in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.“ Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and reconciled accounts with them.He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying,‘ Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents in addition to them.’“ His lord said to him,‘ Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’“ He also who got the two talents came and said,‘ Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents in addition to them.’“ His lord said to him,‘ Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’“ He also who had received the one talent came and said,‘ Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you didn’t sow, and gathering where you didn’t scatter.I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.’“ But his lord answered him,‘ You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I didn’t sow, and gather where I didn’t scatter.You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest.Take away therefore the talent from him, and give it to him who has the ten talents.For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away.Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation.

He said therefore,“ A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.He called ten servants of his and gave them ten mina coins, and told them,‘ Conduct business until I come.’But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying,‘ We don’t want this man to reign over us.’“ When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.The first came before him, saying,‘ Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’“ He said to him,‘ Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’“ The second came, saying,‘ Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.’“ So he said to him,‘ And you are to be over five cities.’Another came, saying,‘ Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief,for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you didn’t lay down, and reap that which you didn’t sow.’“ He said to him,‘ Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down, and reaping that which I didn’t sow.Then why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?’He said to those who stood by,‘ Take the mina away from him and give it to him who has the ten minas.’“ They said to him,‘ Lord, he has ten minas!’‘ For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.But bring those enemies of mine who didn’t want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.’”

Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amen.

who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.

For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name,that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

When he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight.While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing,who also said,“ You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who was received up from you into the sky, will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky.”

He began to speak to them in parables.“ A man planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a pit for the wine press, built a tower, rented it out to a farmer, and went into another country.

which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,far above all rule, authority, power, dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly,which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

So then the Lord, after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.

He began to tell the people this parable.“ A man planted a vineyard, and rented it out to some farmers, and went into another country for a long time.

Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying,“ All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

While he blessed them, he withdrew from them, and was carried up into heaven.

“ It is like a man, traveling to another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, and to each one his work, and also commanded the doorkeeper to keep watch.Watch therefore, for you don’t know when the lord of the house is coming, whether at evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning;lest coming suddenly he might find you sleeping.What I tell you, I tell all: Watch.”

Pilate therefore said to him,“ Are you a king then?” Jesus answered,“ You say that I am a king. For this reason I have been born, and for this reason I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”

But the farmers, when they saw the son, said among themselves,‘ This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and seize his inheritance.’

because he has appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he has ordained; of which he has given assurance to all men, in that he has raised him from the dead.”
