予實語爾、天主必迅予昭雪矣。雖然、人子重臨之日、猶能見篤信之德、存於人世否乎？』

Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works,not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.For if we deliberately sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

“ Then they will hand you over for persecution, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of My name.Then many will take offense, betray one another and hate one another.Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold.But the one who endures to the end will be delivered.

“ Just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man:People went on eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day Noah boarded the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.It will be the same as it was in the days of Lot: People went on eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building.But on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all.It will be like that on the day the Son of Man is revealed.

They will exploit you in their greed with deceptive words. Their condemnation, pronounced long ago, is not idle, and their destruction does not sleep.

Dear friends, don’t let this one thing escape you: With the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.The Lord does not delay His promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.

Answer me quickly, Lord; my spirit fails. Don’t hide Your face from me, or I will be like those going down to the Pit.Let me experience Your faithful love in the morning, for I trust in You. Reveal to me the way I should go because I long for You.Rescue me from my enemies, Lord; I come to You for protection.

See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth and is patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains.You also must be patient. Strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near.

False messiahs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.
