Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?

況上帝選民晝夜呼籲、雖久忍之、豈不伸其冤乎、

上帝選民、晝夜籲禱、其應或遲、豈不終伸其冤乎、

天主之選民、晝夜籲禱天主、其應允或遲、豈不終伸其冤乎、

況在天主、焉能不聽其選民之日夜呼籲、而為之昭雪乎？又焉能漠視其困苦、而久置不理乎？

And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?

now, will God not bring about justice for His elect who cry out to Him day and night, and will He delay long for them?

And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?

And shall not God avenge his elect, that cry to him day and night, and yet he is longsuffering over them?

Will not God grant justice to His elect who cry out to Him day and night? Will He delay to help them?

Won’t God give justice to his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay long to help them?

Won’t God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?

They shouted to the Lord and said,“ O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you judge the people who belong to this world and avenge our blood for what they have done to us?”

The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

Now a true widow, a woman who is truly alone in this world, has placed her hope in God. She prays night and day, asking God for his help.

But the Lord stands beside me like a great warrior. Before him my persecutors will stumble. They cannot defeat me. They will fail and be thoroughly humiliated. Their dishonor will never be forgotten.O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, you test those who are righteous, and you examine the deepest thoughts and secrets. Let me see your vengeance against them, for I have committed my cause to you.Sing to the Lord! Praise the Lord! For though I was poor and needy, he rescued me from my oppressors.

So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.“ For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay.

So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”

O Lord, God of my salvation, I cry out to you by day. I come to you at night.

In his justice he will pay back those who persecute you.

Night and day we pray earnestly for you, asking God to let us see you again to fill the gaps in your faith.

Timothy, I thank God for you— the God I serve with a clear conscience, just as my ancestors did. Night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers.

This letter is from Paul, a slave of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ. I have been sent to proclaim faith to those God has chosen and to teach them to know the truth that shows them how to live godly lives.

“ That is why they stand in front of God’s throne and serve him day and night in his Temple. And he who sits on the throne will give them shelter.

Come with great power, O God, and rescue me! Defend me with your might.Listen to my prayer, O God. Pay attention to my plea.For strangers are attacking me; violent people are trying to kill me. Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

Rejoice over her fate, O heaven and people of God and apostles and prophets! For at last God has judged her for your sakes.

Break the arms of these wicked, evil people! Go after them until the last one is destroyed.The Lord is king forever and ever! The godless nations will vanish from the land.Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them.You will bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed, so mere people can no longer terrify them.

“ May the Lord judge between us. Perhaps the Lord will punish you for what you are trying to do to me, but I will never harm you.As that old proverb says,‘ From evil people come evil deeds.’ So you can be sure I will never harm you.Who is the king of Israel trying to catch anyway? Should he spend his time chasing one who is as worthless as a dead dog or a single flea?May the Lord therefore judge which of us is right and punish the guilty one. He is my advocate, and he will rescue me from your power!”

This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.

He will judge the world with justice and rule the nations with fairness.
