你們要變賣資財來施捨，為自己豫備永不舊的錢囊，用不盡的財寶在天上；那裏沒有賊能走近，也沒有蟲能毁壞。

耶穌對他說：『你若想要作到完全，就該去變賣你的資財、給予窮人，你就有財寶在天上；你來吧，來跟從我。』

囑咐他們要行善，要在好事上富足，甘心施捨，樂意同人分享，為自己積存着善行做美好的根基、以備將來，好將那真是生命的把握住。

但所需要的只有一件。馬利亞已經揀了好的份兒，就是不能被奪去的。』

我告訴你們，要用不義的錢財結交朋友，到了錢財無用的時候，你們便可以被接納到永世的帳幕裏去。

弟兄們，我不以自己為已經抓得着了。只有一件；我就是忘了背後的，盡全身之力去追求前面的事，

耶穌又對眾人說：『人若想要跟着我，就當棄絕自己，天天拿起他的十字架來跟從我。

『別為自己積儹財寶在地上了；地上有蟲子和鏽能弄壞，地上有賊能挖窟窿來偷。你只要為自己積儹財寶在天上；那裏既沒有蟲子、也沒有鏽能弄壞；那裏也沒有賊能挖窟窿去偷。

但親愛的、這一點你們可別忘了：在主看來，一日如千年，千年如一日。

於是彼得回答耶穌說：『你看，我們已經撇下了一切，跟從了你了，那我們還可以得到甚麼呢？』耶穌對他們說：『我實在告訴你們，你們跟從了我的人，在再生世界中，人子坐在他榮耀之寶座上時候，你們也必坐在十二個座位上，審判治理以色列十二個支派。

他們在路上走的時候，有一個人對耶穌說：『你無論往哪裏去，我要跟從你。』耶穌對他說：『狐狸有洞，空中的飛鳥有窩，惟獨人子沒有枕頭的地方！』他又對另一個人說：『你跟從我！』那人說：『准我先去埋葬我的父親吧。』耶穌對他說：『任憑那些死人去埋葬他們的死人；你、卻要去，遍傳上帝的國。』又另有一個人說：『主啊，我要跟從你；但是准我先去辭別我家裏的人。』耶穌對他說：『手扶着犂、而直向後看的、沒有在上帝國裏能合用的。』

有一件事我曾求過永恆主，我還要尋求：就是儘我一生的日子住在永恆主的殿中，瞻仰永恆主的恩美，在他的殿堂裏求問。

信的人都在一處，凡物共有。他們賣了田產家業，分給眾人、照人所需要的。

他們中間沒有一個貧乏的，因為凡是業主、有園地或房屋的、都變賣了，把所賣的價錢拿來，放在使徒腳旁；照人所需要的分給各人。有一個利未人約瑟、按籍貫是居比路人、被使徒稱為巴拿巴的（巴拿巴翻譯出來就是「鼓勵人的人」）；他有田地變賣了，把錢拿來，放在使徒腳前。
