When Jesus heard this, he said to him,“ You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

你們當賣掉自己所擁有的，施捨給人，為自己預備不會破舊的錢包和沒有窮盡的財寶在天上；在那裡盜賊不能靠近，也沒有蟲咬蝕。

耶穌對他說：「如果你想要成為完全的，就當去賣掉你所擁有的，分給窮人，這樣你將有財寶在天上；然後你來跟從我。」

你要吩咐他們常行美善，在美好行為上富足，慷慨施捨，樂意分享；為著那將要來臨的，給自己積存美好的基礎，使他們抓住那真正的生命。

但是有一件事是需要的，而瑪麗亞選擇了那美好的一份，是不能從她那裡被拿去的。」

我告訴你們：要藉著那不義的財富為自己結交朋友，這樣當財富無用的時候，你們會被接到永恆的居所裡。

弟兄們，我不認為自己已經得著了；但是我有一件事：就是忘記背後，爭取前面的，

耶穌又對大家說：「如果有人想要來跟從我，他就當否定自己，天天背起自己的十字架，然後跟從我。

「你們不要為自己在地上積蓄財寶，地上有蟲蛀，會鏽蝕，也有盜賊鑽進來偷竊；而要為自己在天上積蓄財寶：天上既沒有蟲蛀，也不會鏽蝕，也沒有盜賊鑽進來偷竊。

可是，各位蒙愛的人哪，你們不可忽略這一點：在主看來，一日如千年，千年如一日。

這時候，彼得對耶穌說：「看，我們捨棄一切跟從了你，我們將來究竟會怎麼樣呢？」耶穌對他們說：「我確實地告訴你們：在新的世界裡，當人子坐在他榮耀寶座上的時候，你們這些跟從我的人也要坐在十二個寶座上，審判以色列的十二個支派。

他們在路上走的時候，有一個人對耶穌說：「無論你到哪裡去，我都要跟從你。」耶穌對他說：「狐狸有洞，天空的飛鳥有窩，人子卻沒有枕頭的地方。」耶穌對另一個人說：「你跟從我！」可是他說：「主啊，請准許我先去埋葬我的父親。」耶穌對他說：「讓死人去埋葬他們的死人吧。至於你，你要去宣講神的國。」另有一個人說：「主啊，我要跟從你，但是請准許我先向我家裡的人告別。」耶穌對他說：「手扶著犁又看背後之事的人，不配神的國。」

有一件事我求過耶和華，這件事我還要求問，就是在我一生所有的日子裡，可以居住在耶和華的殿中，仰望耶和華的恩慈，在他的聖殿中尋求；

所有信了的人都在一起，凡物共有，他們變賣財產和產業，按照各人的需要分給大家。

他們當中沒有一個缺乏的人，因為凡是擁有田產或房屋的人，都賣掉了那些東西，把所賣得的錢拿來，放在使徒們的腳前，按照各人的需要分給每個人。有一個出生在塞浦路斯的利未人約瑟，使徒們稱他為巴拿巴——「巴拿巴」翻譯出來就是「安慰之子」；他有一塊田地，也賣掉了，把錢拿來放在使徒們的腳前。
