你们当卖掉自己所拥有的，施舍给人，为自己预备不会破旧的钱包和没有穷尽的财宝在天上；在那里盗贼不能靠近，也没有虫咬蚀。

耶稣对他说：“如果你想要成为完全的，就当去卖掉你所拥有的，分给穷人，这样你将有财宝在天上；然后你来跟从我。”

你要吩咐他们常行美善，在美好行为上富足，慷慨施舍，乐意分享；为着那将要来临的，给自己积存美好的基础，使他们抓住那真正的生命。

但是有一件事是需要的，而玛丽亚选择了那美好的一份，是不能从她那里被拿去的。”

我告诉你们：要藉着那不义的财富为自己结交朋友，这样当财富无用的时候，你们会被接到永恒的居所里。

弟兄们，我不认为自己已经得着了；但是我有一件事：就是忘记背后，争取前面的，

耶稣又对大家说：“如果有人想要来跟从我，他就当否定自己，天天背起自己的十字架，然后跟从我。

“你们不要为自己在地上积蓄财宝，地上有虫蛀，会锈蚀，也有盗贼钻进来偷窃；而要为自己在天上积蓄财宝：天上既没有虫蛀，也不会锈蚀，也没有盗贼钻进来偷窃。

可是，各位蒙爱的人哪，你们不可忽略这一点：在主看来，一日如千年，千年如一日。

这时候，彼得对耶稣说：“看，我们舍弃一切跟从了你，我们将来究竟会怎么样呢？”耶稣对他们说：“我确实地告诉你们：在新的世界里，当人子坐在他荣耀宝座上的时候，你们这些跟从我的人也要坐在十二个宝座上，审判以色列的十二个支派。

他们在路上走的时候，有一个人对耶稣说：“无论你到哪里去，我都要跟从你。”耶稣对他说：“狐狸有洞，天空的飞鸟有窝，人子却没有枕头的地方。”耶稣对另一个人说：“你跟从我！”可是他说：“主啊，请准许我先去埋葬我的父亲。”耶稣对他说：“让死人去埋葬他们的死人吧。至于你，你要去宣讲神的国。”另有一个人说：“主啊，我要跟从你，但是请准许我先向我家里的人告别。”耶稣对他说：“手扶着犁又看背后之事的人，不配神的国。”

有一件事我求过耶和华，这件事我还要求问，就是在我一生所有的日子里，可以居住在耶和华的殿中，仰望耶和华的恩慈，在他的圣殿中寻求；

所有信了的人都在一起，凡物共有，他们变卖财产和产业，按照各人的需要分给大家。

他们当中没有一个缺乏的人，因为凡是拥有田产或房屋的人，都卖掉了那些东西，把所卖得的钱拿来，放在使徒们的脚前，按照各人的需要分给每个人。有一个出生在塞浦路斯的利未人约瑟，使徒们称他为巴拿巴——“巴拿巴”翻译出来就是“安慰之子”；他有一块田地，也卖掉了，把钱拿来放在使徒们的脚前。
