耶穌被法利賽人詰問、上帝的國幾時要來到，就回答他們說：『上帝國之來臨，並不是以守候窺察而看到的。

他們正聽這些話的時候，因為將近耶路撒冷，又因人們以為上帝的國將要立時就顯出，耶穌便加講了一個比喻，

耶穌回答說：『我的國不屬於這世界。我的國若屬於這世界，給我當差事的就要戰鬥、使我不至於被送交給猶太人了。其實我的國不是出於這裏的。』

他們聚會的時候、就問耶穌說：『主啊，你為以色列復興國度，就在這時候麼？』耶穌對他們說：『父放在自己權內所定的時候或時期、並不是給你們知道的。

當那些王在位的日子，天上的上帝必另立一國、永不被滅；其政權也不留歸別族的人；它卻要砸碎而消滅那一切國；它必存立到永遠；

人必對你們說：「看哪，在那裏」；「看哪，在這裏」；你們不要出去，也不要追逐。因為閃電怎樣從天這邊一閃，直照到天那邊，人子在他的日子也必這樣。

『律法和神言人到約翰為止；從此上帝國的福音就傳開了，人人用力擠着要進入。

他應聲告訴我說：『這是永恆主的話、向所羅巴伯說的：萬軍之永恆主說；不是依靠權勢，不是倚靠能力，乃是倚靠我的靈。

「就是你們城裏的飛塵、粘着我們腳上的、我們也當着你們面前拂去啊。然而這一點你們該知道：上帝的國是臨近了。」
