Jesus sent out these twelve after giving them instructions:“ Don’t take the road that leads to the Gentiles, and don’t enter any Samaritan town.

Then I fell at his feet to worship him, but he said to me,“ Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers and sisters who hold firmly to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, because the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah to them.The crowds were all paying attention to what Philip said, as they listened and saw the signs he was performing.For unclean spirits, crying out with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed, and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed.So there was great joy in that city.A man named Simon had previously practiced sorcery in that city and amazed the Samaritan people, while claiming to be somebody great.They all paid attention to him, from the least of them to the greatest, and they said,“ This man is called the Great Power of God.”They were attentive to him because he had amazed them with his sorceries for a long time.But when they believed Philip, as he proclaimed the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.Even Simon himself believed. And after he was baptized, he followed Philip everywhere and was amazed as he observed the signs and great miracles that were being performed.When the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them.After they went down there, they prayed for them so that the Samaritans might receive the Holy Spirit because he had not yet come down on any of them.( They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.When Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money,saying,“ Give me this power also so that anyone I lay hands on may receive the Holy Spirit.”But Peter told him,“ May your silver be destroyed with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!You have no part or share in this matter, because your heart is not right before God.Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, your heart’s intent may be forgiven.For I see you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by wickedness.”“ Pray to the Lord for me,” Simon replied,“ so that nothing you have said may happen to me.”So, after they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they traveled back to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

so that all people may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

“ How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” she asked him. For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.

the twenty-four elders fall down before the one seated on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne and say,

Now many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of what the woman said when she testified,“ He told me everything I ever did.”So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days.Many more believed because of what he said.And they told the woman,“ We no longer believe because of what you said, since we have heard for ourselves and know that this really is the Savior of the world.”

In the same way, a Levite, when he arrived at the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.But a Samaritan on his journey came up to him, and when he saw the man, he had compassion.He went over to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on olive oil and wine. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.The next day he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said,‘ Take care of him. When I come back I’ll reimburse you for whatever extra you spend.’

Then the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God, who is seated on the throne, saying, Amen! Hallelujah!A voice came from the throne, saying, Praise our God, all his servants, and the ones who fear him, both small and great!

He sent messengers ahead of himself, and on the way they entered a village of the Samaritans to make preparations for him.But they did not welcome him, because he determined to journey to Jerusalem.When the disciples James and John saw this, they said,“ Lord, do you want us to call down fire from heaven to consume them?”But he turned and rebuked them,and they went to another village.

The four living creatures said,“ Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Jesus told her,“ Believe me, woman, an hour is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.You Samaritans worship what you do not know. We worship what we do know, because salvation is from the Jews.

Then Abram fell facedown and God spoke with him:

The woman, with fear and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before him, and told him the whole truth.

Entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and falling to their knees, they worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’s knees and said,“ Go away from me, because I’m a sinful man, Lord!”

The Jews responded to him,“ Aren’t we right in saying that you’re a Samaritan and have a demon?”

When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell at his feet, and worshiped him.But Peter lifted him up and said,“ Stand up. I myself am also a man.”
